Thirty people were injured when the floor of an apartment clubhouse collapsed during a party in Clemson, South Carolina, the city's police department said.A large portion of floor collapsed Sunday morning as attendees danced in unison at the clubhouse of the Woodlands of Clemson apartment complex, Woodlands Property Management President Tal Slann said.People fell through the collapsed floor into the building's basement, Slann said.No individuals were trapped during the collapse and it's unclear if anyone suffered life-threatening injuries, police said. 566

Toby the cat has been on quite the adventure in recent weeks.After his owners near Raleigh, North Carolina decided to drop off Toby at a friend's home, Toby left to return to his previous owners, who lived 12 miles away, according to the SPCA of Wake County, North Carolina. Instead of taking Toby back in after his 12-mile trek, the family instead took him to a shelter and requested the staff euthanize the cat. He was then transferred to the SPCA, which is a no-kill shelter.Toby is a healthy 7-year-old feline who has enough energy to walk 12 miles.On the SPCA’s Facebook page, dozens of commenters criticized the owners’ actions, with some offering to adopt Toby.On Monday, the SPCA announced that Toby had found a permanent home.“He has three new siblings (one feline and two human) and a cat-savvy mom to show him what a loving family is really like,” the shelter said on its Facebook page. 920

One of the world's biggest celebrations will see its own changes. Instead of the usual crowd in Times Square for the ball drop, there will be fewer than 100 people at the Crossroads of the World to ring in 2021. This afternoon around 3 pm, what police say appears to be a stray bullet came through one of our preschool classrooms. Thankfully, no children, teachers, or staff were injured.Our teachers immediately took the children to the chapel, locked down the campus, and called police. Officers arrived shortly after the incident and are now conducting their investigation. At this point, we don't have any information from the police on where the bullet came from but they do assure us that there is no ongoing risk. Given that the bullet fell just inside the window, it appears to have been fired at a great distance, and not be a targeted shooting, according to the police.All of our parents have been notified and are coming to pick up their children now. The school will be closed tomorrow. Out of an abundance of caution, the St. Petersburg Police will be providing additional patrol and security.We are extremely grateful that no one was injured and appreciate the fast action of our teachers, staff and the St. Pete Police to keep everyone safe. 1052
