(KGTV) - A local woman believes she was the target of a so-called "slider" targeting drivers at gas stations.Just past noon on Wednesday at the Arco on Jamacha Road, Blanca Maye finished filling up and then noticed a white sedan pull up next to her.Inside the car was a casually dressed man, about 30 years old. She said he glanced at her car a few times and that made her pause. She locked up her car, after collecting some trash from it.MAP: Track crime in your neighborhood"I was walking toward the trash can, and I remember hearing someone grab my door handle," said Maye.She says when she looked back there he was: the same man right next to her door, quickly walking away toward the cashier.Upset, Maye stared at him and then drove away with her purse safely sitting on the floor of her car. Others haven't been so lucky.  Recently, police in the Los Angeles area sent out video of "sliders" in action: thieves pulling up - and while the driver is distracted - getting low and sneaking toward the car to steal valuables. Police warned these incidents on the rise in Southern California and the target is usually women who are alone."People don't expect this to happen at gas station. You're literally there for two minutes at the most.  I expect to pump my gas, not to get robbed," said Maye.Authorities remind drivers to lock their doors, remove their keys and close their windows when stopping at the fill up.San Diego police say they haven't noticed a spike in sliding incidents. 1548

If a woman completes the consultation and is deemed eligible for a medical abortion, the organization's founder writes a prescription for the two pills used to terminate the pregnancy, misoprostol and mifepristone. Prescriptions are then sent to a pharmacy in India, which fills and mails orders to the U.S.There are other ways to get abortion pills by mail in the U.S., but Aid Access is the most affordable option at and one that offers the possibility of financial help, as stated on its website. Starbucks has reached gender and race pay equity among all US employees in similar roles, the company said on Wednesday."This milestone is the result of years of work and commitment," said Lucy Helm, executive vice president and chief partner officer at Starbucks, in a statement."We've worked hard for a couple of years now to ensure we can get there," Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson told CNN's Maggie Lake on Wednesday.The coffee company added that it will now tell American job candidates the pay range for any position in an effort to increase transparency.Helm explained that the company has been striving for pay equity for about decade. Last year, it was at 99.7% parity. Women make up about one-third of the company's executive team.Starbucks uses several tools to make sure bias doesn't impact how much employees make. The company regularly checks for compensation gaps among employees, and uses a calculator to determine starting pay rate targets based on experience. It doesn't ask job candidates about their salary history, and the company analyzes raises to make sure they're fair.It is working with women's organizations like Billie Jean King's Leadership Initiative and the National Partnership for Women & Families to help guide its efforts."One of the most important things to get right is starting pay," said Sara Bowen, the leader of the Starbucks Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility team.Research shows that women, on average, earn around 80 cents for every dollar a man makes.
