BEIJING, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Smog blanketing large swaths of China was thinning out on Thursday, with air pollution in some cities easing, the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) said.
Major pollutant, PM 2.5, had reduced in Beijing, with the concentration lowering to 213 micrograms per cubic meter at 10 a.m., from 310 micrograms per cubic meter on Wednesday.
Fixed-asset investment climbed 20.7 percent in the first ten months compared with the same period of 2011, quickening from the 20.5-percent expansion logged during the January-September period.
More than 2,000 tickets were sold for the Guangzhou-Beijing high-speed journey for Dec. 26 on Thursday, the first day passengers could book tickets.
