They are not paying people to put ads on their car (see full statement below).Red Bull, Rockstar Energy Drink, Casio watches and Nike are likewise not paying people to put their logo on their car. But people are falling for it because the job offer sounds plausible (we have all seen marketing cars), and the checks appear perfectly legitimate."This check does look real," Miller said. "It's from PNC bank. And from what I understand, if you deposit it and spend your money you're responsible to pay it back." The check is not a real PNC check, but rather is a sophisticated forgery.That would have been a tough life lesson for a young woman just out of high school.Bottom line: No beverage company will pay someone who is not a company employee to drive a car with their logos on it. Damien, 13, didn't believe it when he found out his new foster parent would be his math teacher, Finn Lanning."The previous two foster homes said that they were stable," the seventh-grader told CNN with a hint of disappointment in his voice. "I didn't think that this one would last either."Lanning and Damien first met at the beginning of the school year in August 2018 at the AXL Academy in Aurora, Colorado.The teacher said he knew right away that the boy was special. "He is well-mannered, polite and exceptionally smart," said Lanning, who asked that Damien's last name not be used.The teenager also faces a lot of challenges.When he was 8, Damien's kidneys failed, and he went on dialysis.He has moved through many foster homes over the years. Celebration and pride turned into tragedy for a small city in Alabama after gunfire erupted during a high school graduation party.One person was killed and eight others were wounded at a community center in Atmore, near the Florida border, early Saturday.Witnesses say a fight broke out between two women during a graduation party for Escambia County High School's seniors. As people were trying to separate the two women, police said, gunshots were fired inside that hit several people.Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks told CNN officers responded to a 911 call for shots fired at the community center around 2 a.m. Saturday. Once officers got to the scene, shots were still being fired and police found one man dead in the center's cafeteria.
