A man shot by a Cuyahoga County, Ohio Sheriff's deputy near Cleveland on I-90 on Thursday has died.The medical examiner identified the man as Brett Luengo, 33, of Westlake, Ohio. He was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was treated, expired and pronounced dead last night. Luengo was a prominent businessman who was the CEO and Vice President of ConstructAbility Inc., a construction services firm in Westlake.The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce awarded ConstructAbility with an award in 2017.The shooting took place along Interstate 90 near West Boulevard Thursday evening.The scene led to a major police presence and traffic back-up in the eastbound lanes between West 44th Street and West Boulevard.The deputy involved was not injured.Witnesses say the incident started after a single-vehicle crash. The driver then got out of the SUV and was acting both erratically and violently to those trying to help him. Authorities say he was involved in an altercation when the deputy exited his own vehicle. When the deputy approached, the sheriff said Luengo "charged (the deputy) in an aggressive manner.""He kept screaming to shoot him. The cop kept asking him to roll over, put your hands behind your back. The man was not cooperating. He kept trying to get up and attack the police officer, he kept lunging at him," witness Jason Geiger said. "I think what happened at that point he ran out of taser cartridges because at that point he shot the guy."Authorities say the deputy fired one shot. A Dearborn Heights police officer is the focus of a viral video, which appears to show him sleeping behind the wheel of his cruiser.Dearborn Heights Chief of Police Lee Gavin has confirmed that an internal investigation will take place. Sources confirm the video was shot by a citizen last Wednesday. They also say it’s not the first time the officer has been spotted snoozing.Citizens have said they are disappointed and stunned to see the video. Some are also concerned about the health and safety of the officer. “It’s bad. Without knowing all the details, yes it’s dangerous,” former Detroit Police Asst. A former assistant manager of a Michigan PetSmart has filed a lawsuit in which he claims he was fired for enforcing a store rule and a state-wide mandate requiring customers to wear a mask.Alex Brothers says he called police on July 19 when he saw a customer without a mask at the chain's store in Midland. According to Brothers' attorney, Jennifer McManus, the maskless customer was carrying a gun while shopping in the store."Because the man was openly carrying a weapon, my client decided the smartest course of action was to contact law enforcement about the fact the man was not wearing a mask, as required under the governor's executive order," McManus said.Midland police escorted the man from the store without incident. Two days later, PetSmart fired Brothers, who had worked at the store since 2015 and reportedly had an "excellent" performance record."He was told, 'Well, we know you feel really strongly about this mask issue,' and that was said during the termination meeting," McManus said.Michigan is one of many states that have adopted mandates requiring masks in public. But enforcement of those mandates often falls to retail or restaurant employees — and there have been several incidents in Michigan where such confrontations have ended in violence.In July, a dispute over masks led to a police-involved shooting near Lansing, Michigan. Two months earlier, a woman in nearby Macomb County, Michigan, was accused of attacking a worker after refusing to wear a mask. Also in May, 43-year-old Calvin Munerlyn was shot in the head after asking a family to put on masks before entering a Family Dollar in Flint, Michigan.McManus said those headlines were at the top of her mind when she heard about Brothers' case."Terminating your employee for trying to do their job in these unprecedented times is really unconscionable," McManus said. A black bear was spotted wandering through backyards in Brecksville, Ohio on Tuesday night, and it seems to be a little hungry.Officers said the bear bent a fence to get into a beehive within the fenced area.Police said the bear was sighted in the 9000 block of Highland Road, east of I-77 and south of State Route 82. This area has deep wooded lots, according to officials.The animal warden was out checking the area with officers and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources will be contacted in the morning, according to police. 564

A man "showing homage to the DC comic supervillain, The Joker,'" was arrested after a road rage incident in Tempe, Arizona.Tempe police report that on April 15 near Rio Salado Parkway and Price Road, two vehicles were stopped in the right lane at a red light.A woman was stopped behind an orange Ford Mustang with lime green rims. She honked and flashed her lights signaling the Mustang to go. Instead, the driver, 35-year-old Keith Douglas Casto, pointed a silver handgun at the woman. After both cars made the turn, Casto reportedly came alongside the woman's car, rolled down his window and again pointed the handgun at the woman while she was on the phone with police. "Keep it in the movies. You're not that person and you don't get paid to point a gun at people in real life." said the woman, who is not being identified for safety reasons. "It looked like a gangster gun. No joke. Absolutely not. It's not okay to point your gun at someone."Tempe police officers located a car with the license plate 'AZ JOKER' at a nearby gas station. They found Casto with the same gun in his pocket. Inside the car, police say, was an homage to the 'DC comic supervillain'. They found a 'Joker' flask, a purple cane, an electronic voice changer, fake gold teeth, and joker cards.
