(KGTV) — The holidays can be particularly difficult for service members overseas who are missing out on spending time with their family and friends during season.That's why every year, thousands of residents across the country try to spread some cheer with care packages to troops as a way to connect, build morale, and share in the joy that comes with the holidays.Even if it's a card, holiday gestures help spread the warmth of the season.DeadlinesThe U.S. Postal Service says cards and packages should be sent to APO/FPO/DPO addresses overseas. Those should be sent no later Dec. 11 (for cards, letters and priority mail packages) and Dec. 18 (for priority mail express military service, available to most destinations.)USPS has also created military care kits, including several free postal items, to help send packages overseas. Shipping guidelines can be found here.How to helpFor those unsure of how to help, there are a few options.One method is through the USO. The organization sends a variety of holiday care packages that can support up to 50 troops a piece depending on the option chosen. (KGTV) — The child in all of us may be compelled to bust out the stationary and send an actual letter this year.The United States Postal Service introduced three new sets of stamps for 2019, featuring characters from Sesame Street, the Tyrannosaurus rex, and "spooky silhouettes" for the fall season.The Sesame Street stamps, designed by Derry Noyes, will feature 16 Muppets characters: Big Bird, Ernie, Bert, Cookie Monster, Rosita, The Count, Oscar the Grouch, Abby Cadabby, Herry Monster, Julia, Guy Smiley, Snuffleupagus, Elmo, Telly, Grover and Zoe. "The Postal Service honors Sesame Street as one of the most influential and beloved children’s television shows. For the last 50 years, it has provided educational programming and entertainment for generations of children throughout the country and around the world," the service said.T. rex stamps were designed with original artwork by scientist Julius T. Csotonyi. A 41-year-old Sheboygan, Wisconsin mom faces multiple charges after she had her 12-year-old daughter driver her car after she was drinking.According to the criminal complaint, the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office was called to I-43 at County Road V on Sunday, March 18 around 5:30 p.m. local time — after a 911 caller reported a child driving a Chevy Equinox SUV on the freeway while sitting on her mother’s lap.The deputy caught up to the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. When the deputy approached the vehicle, he noted a strong smell of intoxicants coming from inside. He also saw the 12-year-old girl was in the back seat and the mother, Amanda Hauke, was behind the wheel.The mother initially denied that the girl was driving the car in her lap – but later admitted that it was true. The 12-year-old girl also told the deputy that she did this.During a field sobriety test, the mother admitted to drinking roughly four hours before she was pulled over. A preliminary breath test was performed and showed Hauke’s blood alcohol level was .126. She was then arrested. After she was arrested, Hauke then admitted to authorities she had consumed “a couple glasses of wine with a co-worker at a bar between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. that afternoon.”Hauke is charged with: 1306
