The Trump administration is planning to expand a procedure to speed up deportations to include undocumented immigrants anywhere in the US who cannot prove they've lived in the US continuously for two years or more.The change casts a wider net of undocumented immigrants subject to the fast-track deportation procedure known as "expedited removal," which allows immigration authorities to remove an individual without a hearing before an immigration judge.In doing so, the administration would be provided greater latitude in quickly deporting undocumented immigrants.Previously, undocumented immigrants who were caught within 100 miles of a land border and within 14 days of arrival were subject to the procedure.The notice, filed in the Federal Register Monday, drastically changes the designation of expedited removal to include undocumented immigrants nationwide who can't prove they've been in the country continuously for two years. Tucked away in the small town of Castle Rock, Colorado is a basement full of nostalgia. When you walk into Brett Martin’s basement, you’re actually walking into a museum of video game memorabilia. “I think people think I’m nuts, but I also think they recognize the passion,” Martin says. “I am the world record holder for the largest video game memorabilia collection.” Martin was born to be a collector of video game stuff. He shares his birthday with Super Mario. “I was born in 1981, the same year Mario was,” Martin says.His basement is covered from top to bottom, full of figurines and mementos dedicated to video game characters. “I know there’s lots of video game collectors, but there’s not a lot of video game memorabilia collectors,” Martin says. “Which makes my collection pretty unique.” According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Martin was coined the largest collector of video game memorabilia in 2013. “In 2012, I had it appraised. It was around a 0,000,” the collector says. “Now, I’d argue it’s around 0,000 because the value of some of the stuff I bought has really ramped up.” Of course, people like Martin have traveled from all over the world to visit his massive collection. “So, I have a little community of collectors that have found me over the years,” Martin says. “Most of them from other countries.” However, collecting with this kind of passion is so much more. “You have to look inside yourself and realize why you’re doing it,” Martin says. “It comes from preservation, cause there’s so few of them, especially in good conditions. The US announced major new restrictions on US citizens traveling to Cuba on Tuesday.The new regulations announced by the Treasury will block the most common way Americans are able to visit the island through organized tour groups that license US citizens to travel automatically.These regulatory changes were originally announced on April 17. At the time, White House national security adviser John Bolton said the Treasury Department would "implement further regulatory changes to restrict non-family travel to Cuba."The new restrictions will prohibit cruise ship passengers whose trips are arranged as organized tours.The Trump administration recently allowed US companies and Cuban-Americans to sue companies using property that was seized after the 1959 Cuban revolution, including cruise ship terminals and airports.Carnival Cruise Line was the first company to be sued under Title III of the Helms-Burton law, which previous administrations had waived. 970
