NORFOLK, Va. - The first presidential debate of 2020 was all some voters needed to watch before heading to the polls.“[I] tuned into most of the debate last night, and that really solidified my decision to vote today,” said William Jimenez.But the thought of this year’s election is nerve-wracking for some voters.“Regardless of political persuasion and who you intend to vote for, people across the political spectrum are all experiencing that kind of stress,” said Gary Roftus, the director of Fairfield Psychological Associates.Jimenez says this election is important.“A lot is on the line. A lot is at stake,” he adds.Election stress - according to the American Psychological Association, it’s affecting more than 50% of Americans.Gabrielle Harrell felt the pressure at the polls Wednesday.“It’s been very stressful. As I was filling out the ballot, I was triple-checking to make sure I’m checking the right box,” Harrell said.Roftus says people are already stressed with the coronavirus.“We’ve never had an election where we are told is the most important election ever in the middle of a pandemic,” he adds.As we get closer to November 3, Roftus says politics comes up in his counseling sessions.“Inadvertently or directly because it's bothering them, people are bringing up the election all the time,” he adds.Roftus says the additional voting options are affecting stress levels.“Sometimes some people are uncertain as to where they should vote, whether they should vote by mail, is their ballot going to be accepted?"For people who want to get rid of some of that election stress, voting early is an option.Roftus says it gives some people some comfort and relief. NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- A Noblesville, Indiana woman says a trip to the spa with her daughters ended with a serious infection and a long stay at the hospital.Jennifer White said she got the pedicure nearly two weeks ago at “Nails and Lounge” in Noblesville.Over the next two days, White said she noticed her foot start swelling and turning purple and decided to go to the emergency room.She was admitted to the hospital last Tuesday with a severe infection and she’s been there for nearly a week.“I was worried I could possibly lose my toe. I could lose my foot,” said White. “I’m out of work … all for that 35 minutes of getting a pedicure.”White says the doctors tell her that the scrapings on her foot probably caused a small incision which allowed an infection to enter her foot.“I’m still here and they’re saying it’s due to the fact that I went to the nail salon… unclean, unsanitary and it’s made the infection settle in my foot,” said White.According to the Indiana Administrative Code, the use of razor devices to shave, reduce or remove calluses or corns is prohibited at spas in the state.Nails and Lounge’s manager says they did not use any prohibited devices and that they sanitize and dispose of all tools according to state law. She says they also bleach the pedicure tubs after each use, but have ordered plastic liners for each tub because of this experience.The spa manager denies that their pedicure caused the infection but says they are open to working with White to pay for her medical bills.  1525

New safety measures are now in place at airports across the country.“Anyone in the airport must wear a mask at all times while in the airport,” said Stacey Stegman, spokesperson for Denver International Airport.While travel is down, new safety options are going up after vending machines offering personal protective equipment arrived.“It’s new, it’s different and it’s a stark reminder of the world that we are in today and traveling under these circumstances,” Stegman said.The price for PPE is for two surgical masks with hand sanitizer and a tray cleaner, and for two KN95 masks, hand sanitizer and a tray cleaner.“If it takes the masks to get our concerts back, then I’m all for it,” said Brad Michaels, who has traveled the world as drummer for the band Good Charlotte.Michaels flies private as often as possible but while traveling commercial, he says protection is a priority.“I think it’s a good thing,” he said of PPE vending machines. “I think the price is a little ridiculous: two masks for but we’re at the airport, so.”Now more airports like McCarran International in Las Vegas are also carrying these PPE vending machines.In New York City, PPE vending machines have hit the streets and have even gone underground.David Edelman is with Rapid Mask2Go. NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A man found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Monday is believed to be connected to a shooting at a federal judge's New Jersey home Sunday, killing her son and injuring her husband, law enforcement sources told PIX11 News.The man was found dead in a vehicle on Route 17 in Sullivan County, New York, wearing a FedEx shirt, sources said.Gov. Phil Murphy said he had no comment about the development when asked about it Monday at his daily press briefing.The discovery comes after a gunman opened fire at Judge Esther Salas' North Brunswick home Sunday, killing her 20-year-old son, Daniel, and wounding her husband, defense lawyer Mark Anderl, Chief District Judge Freda Wolfson told the Associated Press.Another law enforcement source, who wasn’t authorized to comment and spoke anonymously to the AP Sunday, said the gunman posed as a FedEx delivery driver.They said Salas wasn't injured as she was in the basement at the time of the shooting.The FBI said late Sunday it was looking for one suspect in connection with the shooting.Officials have not commented on any possible motive for the shooting.Judge Salas was set to preside over a class action lawsuit filed last Wednesday against Deutsche Bank.
