INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis woman was moved to tears after seeing random strangers' response when a man using a wheelchair was flung after hitting a pothole. Carissa Brammer was driving on 86th Street Wednesday morning when she stopped at a stoplight.A man crossing the walk in his motorized wheelchair hit a "damn pothole," as she called it, and went flying forward.He was lying flat on his back in the middle of the intersection when people came running to help. "The first guy out was a suit and tie guy in his Lexus," she wrote. "Then an Asian man in his Lexus. Then a furniture delivery man. Then a couple black men. It was beautiful. Investigators have found evidence that a missing University of Iowa student was doing homework on her laptop the night she went missing, according to the woman's brother.Mollie Tibbets, 20, went missing on July 18 when she went jogging near Brooklyn, Iowa. TIbbets' brother, Jake, says investigators found that evidence that she was on her laptop that evening.The older brother of 20-year-old Mollie Tibbetts says investigators told him evidence shows she was doing homework on her computer last Wednesday evening. Tibbets was reportedly dog-sitting for her boyfriend, Jack Dalton, at the time of her disappearance. It is unclear if she returned after her jog, but the new details, family members say it is possible she did. Investigators previously executed a search warrant for Tibbits' Fitbit and social media accounts. A spokesperson for the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations said Tibbets' case may be the first time Fitbit data has been used in an investigation in the state.  1043

I been shot,’” Sandra’s mother, Bernice, describes of that night. “She was laying on the floor. I thought she was playing, but I called the police anyway because I’m like that’s too many gunshots, what the hell is going on?”The 13-year-old’s award-winning essay is now being shared around the world and read on national news outlets. In the young girl’s essay, “Our Truth,” Sandra wrote about gun violence.Sandra’s words are now some of the only things her mom says she has left of her daughter.“I don’t have her flesh. I don’t have her smiling at me all the time. I don’t have what I want, and I want my baby,” Bernice says. “Ain’t nothing gonna make that better. It’s just that being in this house, since she been gone, it’s strange, scary, and it’s unacceptable.”Bernice says her daughter’s words are giving her strength as she prepares for the funeral. The mother hopes Sandra’s essay might prevent another family from going through the same pain.“The stuff that she wrote, people should listen to it. Heed to it.
