West Jordan, UT (KSL) -- Police say two Salt Lake men took a teenage girl "partying" before taking turns raping her in the back seat of a car while she was passed out, all while a third man recorded it on a cellphone.Richard Djassera, 21, and Leclair Dodjim, 24, were arrested Tuesday by West Jordan police for investigation of aggravating kidnapping, rape, forcible sodomy, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, aggravated sexual assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.A 14-year-old girl met one of the men on Snapchat and struck up a conversation with him, said West Jordan Police Sgt. Joe Monson. That man originally represented himself as a 17-year-old, he said.On Sept. 8, the girl slept over at a friend's house and then sneaked out of the house to meet up with the man and two others, according to a Salt Lake County Jail report.The three men then drove the girl around, "partying, drinking," Monson said. The report says the men provided her with alcohol, then took her to a hookah bar and finally a house party.At some point, between 1 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., the girl — who was in and out of consciousness after drinking — was raped in the back seat of the men's car, Monson said.The report says two of the men assaulted her while the third recorded it."It appears (the girl) is passed out and/or unconscious throughout most of the video and clearly cannot give consent to anything that is happening to her," the report states."She woke up next morning, didn't remember much, was told by a friend that something had happened and called her parents," Monson said.The girl woke up in one of the men's homes and called a friend to come get her, he said.When the man who allegedly recorded the video was interviewed by detectives, he told them he saw what was happening and "thought it was funny so he recorded them having sex on his phone," the report states.As of Thursday, the investigation into the third man was continuing, according to police.The case is another reminder for parents to "be aware what your kids are doing on social media," Monson said. WASHINGTON, D.C. — Six Russian military officers sought to use computer hacking to disrupt the French election, the Winter Olympics in South Korea and U.S. businesses.That's according to a Justice Department indictment unsealed Monday that details attacks on a broad range of political, financial and athletic targets.While announcing the charges at a press conference, Assistant Attorney General John C. Demers called the officers’ actions “the most disruptive and destructive” computer attacks ever attributed to a single group. Demers said no country has weaponized its cyber capabilities as maliciously and irresponsibly as Russia, “wantonly causing unprecedented collateral damage to pursue small tactical advantages and to satisfy fits of spite.” All the defendants are alleged intelligence officers in the Russian military agency known as the GRU. The DOJ previously charged members of the same unit, also known to cybersecurity researchers as “Sandworm Team,” for their role in Russia’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 U.S. elections. Though, the new indictment doesn't charge the officers in connection with the interference in the U.S. elections.The indictment also accuses the defendants in destructive attacks on Ukraine’s power grid. “These were the first reported destructive malware attacks against the control systems of civilian critical infrastructure,” said Demers. “These attacks turned out the lights and turned off the heat in the middle of the Eastern European winter, as the lives of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian men, women and children went dark and cold.” From there, Demers says the conspirators’ “destructive path” widened to encompass “virtually the whole world.” The conspirators allegedly unleashed the “NotPetya” malware, which was reportedly designed to bring down entire networks in seconds and searching for remote computer connections through which to attack additional innocent victims. “The entirely foreseeable result was that the worm quickly spread globally, shutting down companies and inflicting immense financial harm,” said Demers. “This irresponsible conduct impaired the ability of companies in critical sectors, such as transportation and health, to provide services to the public–not only in Ukraine, but as far away as Western Pennsylvania."Demers says the malware led to monetary losses of nearly billion. Next, officials say the conspirators then turned their sights on the Winter Olympics. “The conspirators, feeling the embarrassment of international penalties related to Russia’s state-sponsored doping program, i.e., cheating, took it upon themselves to undermine the games,” said Demers. “Their cyber-attack combined the emotional maturity of a petulant child with the resources of a nation state.” The officers are accused of conducting spear phishing campaigns against South Korea, the host of the 2018 games, as well as the International Olympic Committee, Olympic partners, and athletes. Then, during the opening ceremony, they allegedly launched the “Olympic Destroyer” malware attack, which deleted data from thousands of computers supporting the Games, rendering them inoperable. WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The backbone of the American election system rides on the shoulders of an army of paid volunteers: poll workers, who take time out of their lives to spend Election Day helping others have their say at the ballot box.“Poll worker recruitment is an issue every election cycle,” said Jeanette Senecal with the League of Women Voters.It’s an issue even more so this year.In the 2016 election, there were nearly a million poll workers across the country, 917,694, working at more than 116,000 polling sites.Many of the poll workers tended to be older: 56% were over the age of 61.Now, though, concerns about COVID-19 mean many in this population, vulnerable to the virus, are choosing to sit out this time around.“Poll workers are kind of the make or break point,” Senecal said. “If they're the people who are interfacing with the voters, they're the people who are supporting those voters at the polling place on Election Day.”Officials estimate that across the U.S. about a quarter of a million poll workers may still be needed. It can take about 30 days to train them all, which means they need poll workers to sign up right now, in order to be ready by Election Day. Poll worker pay varies by county, but in some it can be as much as an hour.“This is a real opportunity for us to recruit a new generation of Americans, who can help ensure a safe and fair and as smooth as possible Election Day,” said Erika Soto Lamb, a vice-president at Comedy Central and MTV.The networks are part of a new, national non-profit coalition called Power the Polls, targeting younger people, who have never been poll workers before.“The work of Power the Polls is really in sounding the alarm bell, bringing people into the mix and then connecting them with their local boards of elections and secretaries of state, to make sure they are plugged in to work the polls in areas that need it the most,” Soto Lamb said.If there is a shortage of poll workers, experts fear some polling places may not be able to open at all and the ones that do could experience long lines.“This summer, we saw a voting rights legend pass away in Congressman John Lewis, whose life was built around voting rights and access – and this is one of those component parts,” Soto Lamb said.So far, Power the Polls has recruited 160,000 poll workers for Election Day.
