New technology could be the way guns are made, and you can use it right in your own home.Starting this week, Americans can start legally downloading instructions on how to use a 3D printer to make their own gun. The guns cannot be traced and there’s no background check required.“This is building a gun in your home by pressing a button, says David Chipman, a former ATF Special Agent and an advisor to the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence. “That’s an entirely different thing from past technologies.”  Chipman says he worries about the future and 3D guns getting in the wrong hands.“Although the threat might not be immediate, next month, five…10 years, it could really change the landscape on how criminals and terrorists get guns,” Chipman says.But the NRA points out there are laws that prevent violent criminals from even having a gun. 869

NEW YORK CITY -- Diners at a restaurant in New York City are requesting bubbles. But not the kind of bubbles to float away on, or to drink.Cafe du Soleil has created bubble seating for its customers. The Alvantor bubbles are plastic and can zip open or closed on two sides. There is plenty of room for a table of four inside."People love it. It's very supple. It's very cozy," owner Alain Chevreax said.He started preparing for cold weather early."I ordered the first bubble in July to try out because I was already thinking about the fall weather," Chevreax said.The restaurant now has 16 bubble tables.Cafe du Soleil is one of thousands of New York City restaurants struggling to stay afloat due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Chevreaux said he hopes the bubbles keep diners warm and dry as the temperature drops. He estimated the bubbles will be useful until the temperature goes below 45 degrees."Now people are aware of the bubble and when they make a reservation they say, 'Can we have a bubble?' I say, 'Of course you can have a bubble,'" Chevreaux said.In addition to comfort, customers Alfred and Barbara MacAdam said they like that they're protected from other people's germs."It also helps the restaurant bring more people in because you are enclosed and therefore protected," Alfred MacAdam said.While Cafe du Soleil has a plan to supplement indoor dining, which begins in New York on Sept. 30 at 25% capacity, many city restaurants do not.Despite the start of the fall season on Tuesday, Andrew Rigie, of the New York City Hospitality Alliance, said the city still has not given restaurants guidance on heat lamps."We have really been pushing the city, saying these small business owners need an opportunity to plan,” Rigie said. “Are you going to allow propane, which they can't currently use? Can they use electric?"Rigie said he hopes the state will eventually allow New York City restaurants to increase indoor dining to 50% capacity. NEW YORK (AP) — New York’s Democratic attorney general asked a court to enforce subpoenas into an investigation into whether President Donald Trump and his businesses inflated assets on financial statements.Attorney General Letitia James filed a petition Monday in state trial court in New York City naming the Trump Organization, an umbrella group for the Republican president’s holdings. Bill Pascrell believes the Supreme Court rejecting a Texas lawsuit to overturn the results of the 2020 election in four battleground states Friday is not enough for the Republican members and members-elect of Congress.
