(KGTV) -- The San Dieguito Union High School District is pausing its expansion of on-campus learning until January amid the coronavirus pandemic.The district said Saturday it originally planned to expand access to campus for one day a week of in-class instruction in November.“In order to provide a safe, stable, and sustainable return to campus, and in consideration of maintaining the integrity of our instructional model, we are moving that date to the week of January 4, 2021, for the remainder of Quarter 2,” the district said.Leading up to January, schools plan to hold meetings with parents and students to review bell schedules.Read the full letter from the district below: 689

(KGTV) — Starting Monday, Southern California residents can take advantage of a limited time discount on tickets to the Happiest Place on Earth.Disneyland's Southern California Resident Ticket offers locals a three-day, one-park ticket for 9 and a three-day, Park Hopper ticket for 4. For comparison, tickets for ages 10 and up can cost as much as 5 for a one-day, one-park ticket and 5 for a one-day, Park Hopper ticket on peak days. (KGTV) --There is another effort to tackle our housing problems in California in the form of Proposition 21.Prop. 21, also known as the Rental Affordability Act, would allow local governments to have more authority over rent control on residential properties over 15 years old.It would exempt individuals who own two homes or less from new rent-control policies.Kimberly Ellis has been renting her current Santee apartment for three years. With rent—plus bills and food—she said everything “is just so expensive.”With her husband facing medical issues and her rent increasing every year, she said rent control is needed. “I live on a budget. It’s hard when the rent goes up,” Ellis said.A television ad for Yes on 21 is sponsored by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. The organization has committed major funding to the cause.Pt. Loma Nazarene University’s Chief Economist Lynn Reaser said the advertisement “doesn’t even tell us what Proposition 21 even does.”She clarified it for voters.“It allows local governments to set their own rent control measures that would be different from what the state now has, which basically caps rent increases at 5 percent plus rate of inflation,” Reaser said. She said the ad got two facts right—homelessness is increasing and unemployment is high.According to the California Employment Development Department, unemployment is more than 13 percent. A 36-year-old Washington woman is claiming that a DNA test she took on Ancestry.com showed that her biological father was her parents' fertility doctor, the Washington Post reported. According to the Washington Post, Kelli Rowlette's DNA test claimed that she had a parent-child relationship with Gerald E. Mortimer, a fertility doctor in Idaho. Rowlette said she did not know her mother used artificial insemination. The doctor had diagnosed Rowlette's father with low sperm count and her mother with a tipped uterus. Mortimer recommended inseminating Rowlette's mother with sperm from both her husband and an anonymous sperm donor. According to the Washington Post, the couple asked for a donor who was at least 6-foot-tall, in college and had brown hair and blue eyes. Mortimer had told her parents that he used a match for the sperm donation. Mortimer did not meet Rowlette's parents standards for sperm donation. Mortimer was also listed as Rowlette's delivery doctor, and signed her birth certificate. A lawsuit has been filed in federal court against Mortimer for fraud and medical negligence.To read the Washington Post's full report, click here.  1273
