SAN MARCOS (KGTV) - A report of a man shooting his wife at their North San Diego County home Tuesday may have been a swatting call, San Diego County Sheriff’s Deputies said.Deputies got a call indicating a man had opened fire on his wife at a home in the 1400 block of Clearview Way near San Elijo Park in San Marcos about 2:30 p.m.Investigators surrounded the home, breaking down the door with guns drawn. They found the man unarmed on the balcony. No victim was in the home. Several schools were temporarily placed on lockdown. The man’s wife later arrived at the scene, unaware of the situation. The woman, who did not want to be identified,  told 10News she and her husband are gamers with millions of followers. "People always have an opinion and they may not like what you do or say and sometimes it’s taken to an extreme when they call the cops on you," said the man's wife. The wife said her husband had no idea deputies had entered the home until he heard shouting. He usually wears a headset while he's playing. "He heard 'this is the police'. I think he heard it, 'this is the police' and he took his headset off and he came downstairs and he saw guns being pointed at him and he wanted to show his hands because he was afraid to get shot," she said. The call made to deputies was traced back to a doctor’s office in Michigan, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. (KGTV) - Portions of Santa Barbara County were given mandatory evacuation orders, ahead of an approaching storm and possible mudslides.As of 12 p.m. Thursday, individuals near the Thomas, Sherpa and Whittier fire burn areas in Goleta, Santa Barbara, Montecito, Summerland, and Carpinteria were ordered to evacuate before 6 p.m.A flash flood watch has been issued for areas of Santa Barbara County affected by the Thomas, Whittier, and Sherpa fires starting at 9 p.m. and lasting until 9 a.m. Friday.The storm is expected to hit the Southern California region with moderate to heavy rainfall Thursday. Rains may generate mud and debris flows."The potential for debris flows being triggered is low to moderate. Waterway flows may be rapid and blockage and overtopping in waterways is expected. Roads may be flooded and impassable," a city release said. "People close to and immediately downstream of choke points may be endangered. SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A Scottsdale city councilman echoed the dying words of George Floyd on Wednesday while rallying supporters against mandates that would require masks and face coverings in public to limit the spread of the coronavirus."I can't breathe. Scooter company Lime is recalling one of its models from every city after realizing it could break apart while in use. The company says the model occasionally breaks "when subject to repeated abuse."The scooters were manufactured by a Chinese company called Okai, according to a Washington Post interview with Lime representatives. The Washington Post said it could not get in touch with Okai for comment.Lime plans to decommission any Okai scooters in its fleets.Those who experience the breaking scooter are typically leaving them where they break, and it has been difficult for the company to tally how many have broken, the Washington Post reports.This recall follows one issued a couple months ago stating some Lime scooters could catch fire. That recall of 2,000 scooters said some have batteries that smoldered and sometimes caught fire.The recall had a small impact in Lime's west coast markets. 911

Michelle Lujan Grisham as the state experiences a spike in coronavirus cases, like most of the country. The relief package, which was approved with bipartisan support, will allocate 4 million in direct unemployment assistance, providing a one-time ,200 check to all types of unemployed workers.Another 0 million will be allocated for a grant program for small businesses in the state, allowing business owners to apply for grants of up to ,000.About million will go to provide emergency housing assistance, million will go to emergency food banks services, and million will be used for direct economic assistance to low-income residents, in the form of a one-time 0 disbursement per qualified household.Legislators says the funding for these programs will be made available through a transfer of previously received federal funds.
