Each council district may have a maximum of three retail locations to include two storefront locations or a combination of storefront and delivery operations, not to exceed three per council district.Grasshopper Delivery is Chula Vista owned and operated. Dedicated to sustainable green business practices, Grasshopper uses lows-emission vehicles for delivery and offers biodegradable packaged cannabis products at affordable prices.”Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, Grasshopper Delivery is operating by contactless delivery only.Grasshopper Delivery founding president Andres Camberos said, “We recognize the need for access to licensed legal cannabis in the City of Chula Vista and look forward to serving South County communities. Christiane Amanpour will officially replace Charlie Rose on PBS stations across the country.The move was made official at the public broadcaster's annual meeting on Tuesday. It has been in the works for five months, ever since PBS stations began replaying Amanpour's CNN International program.Those half-hour Amanpour rebroadcasts were an interim replacement for Rose's 11 p.m. talk show, which was cancelled last November after women came forward to accuse him of sexual harassment and misconduct.Now Amanpour is expanding to an hour, like Rose's show used to be. The show will have a new name, "Amanpour & Company," and a stable of regular contributors. The changes will take effect in July."I'm delighted to expand my role at PBS from interim to permanent along with this remarkable diversity of voices and views," Amanpour said. "Never has the time for exploring our world and America's place in it been so urgent."Her statement also alluded to Rose's exit and the reason for it: "I am also thrilled to be a female filling this role at this time!"The expansion was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.Amanpour is CNN's chief international correspondent. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) — The Sweetwater Union High School District will allow almost 300 employees to retire early, to balance a budget tens of millions of dollars in the red. "It was in our best interest to work with the district,” President Gene Chavira of the Sweetwater Education Association said. The teachers’ union president said this is part of the district’s "Budget Solutions Plan." They first added two furlough days to all staff this school year. In November, the Board of Trustees also agreed to offer employees who are 50 years or older and have worked for the district for at least 10 years, the option to resign then retire from the district. Eligible staff members were given two options for bonuses: Leave at the end of the year (December 2018) to receive 85 percent of their annual salary, spread over a given number of years; or leave at the end of the school year (June 2019) to receive 60 percent of their annual salary, spread over a given number of years. At the last union election, Chavira said 87 percent of the union members voted for the district’s plan.By Wednesday’s deadline, nearly 300 employees signed up for the early retirement package. One hundred forty-four are teachers, and the rest are either school staff or management. Of the 144 teachers, 94 of them have chosen to leave in December 2018. While some voiced the concern of teachers leaving in the middle of the school year, Chavira said the district employs many capable teachers who are qualified.“If one your teachers was the teacher that left, then someone else is going to take it. And in most cases, it's someone that's already there, who will assume those classes,” Chavira said. While the hope is the change from a seasoned to a potentially less-experienced teacher in the middle of the school year will not affect student success, the district said the finances made sense. According to the current salary schedule, veteran teachers get paid as much as 8,000 a year, compared to new hires at ,000. "In the long run, it's a savings,” Chavira said. Sweetwater Union High School District spokesman Manny Rubio said with this early retirement plan in place, the district will see significant cost-savings. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- The forward rate of spread has been stopped after a fire sparked near a canyon in Chula Vista Thursday evening. The fire started around 5 p.m. in a canyon on the 400 block of Agua Vista Drive. It is in a residential area near the San Miguel Mountain Trailhead.Video from the scene showed white smoke billowing from the canyon.
