BEIJING, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Representatives from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the ruling United Russia Party met Tuesday to exchange views on the international financial crisis.     "This is the first official and high-level dialogue between the Chinese and Russian ruling parties," said Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee of his meeting with United Russia Party's council presidium secretary Vyacheslav Volodin.     Wang and Volodin signed an agreement on party-to-party cooperation on later Tuesday. Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping attended the signing ceremony.     Xi hailed the Sino-Russian relationship when meeting with Volodin before the ceremony, saying that China would work with Russia to promote stable and healthy growth of the ties, in a bid to benefit the two nations and peoples. FLORENCE, Italy, May 22 (Xinhua) -- China's top lawmaker Wu Bangguo said here on Friday that China and Italy both have long-standing cultural traditions and should strengthen their cultural exchanges.     Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) of China, made the remarks while meeting with Riccardo Nencini, president of the local Parliament of Tuscany Region in Italy.     Wu arrived in Florence on Friday afternoon to continue his official goodwill visit to Italy. ZAGREB, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived in the Croatian capital of Zagreb Friday for a state visit to strengthen the comprehensive cooperative partnership between the two nations.     This is the first visit to Croatia by a Chinese head of state since the two countries established diplomatic ties 17 years ago.     In Zagreb, President Hu is expected to meet Croatian leaders to discuss how to enhance bilateral cooperation and exchange views on major regional and global issues of common concern.     The two countries are expected to sign a host of cooperation deals involving various sectors during the visit.     "I believe that President Hu's visit to Croatia will have great impact on consolidating traditional friendship between China and Croatia and deepening all-round and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries," said Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Hui last week.
