(AP) — Traffic was backed up for miles for thousands of drivers Friday night on a busy Los Angeles-area freeway after a chase that lasted well over an hour and saw the driver repeatedly back into police cruisers.At one point after backing into a cruiser, the man gestured from his window with what appeared to be a knife.The man drove onto Interstate 5 in Burbank the wrong way, eventually passed a police barrier and rammed into several cars before stopping.Police evacuated drivers from their cars while they had their guns trained on the car. The driver eventually got out. It appeared that officers used a stun gun on him, prompting him to get back into the car.A standoff pursued and eventually ended after the man got out of the car, laid down for a while and tried to run away. Mick Calarco, Project Manager with the City of Carlsad calls the park a "manifestation of Carrillo's childhood dreams." Million- dollar homes now surround the park, but it was once a sprawling and working ranch with livestock and wild animals. Peacocks still roam the property, original descendants of the birds Carrillo bought for the ranch."You can truly lose yourself out here," said Calarco. The old adobe buildings have been beautifully restored to their original splendor. Carrillo bought the property in 1937. His famous friends, including Clark Gable would often visit the ranch. In every building you can see Carrillo's vision for preserving early ranch architecture. Adobe was a central theme in Leo's remembrance of of his childhood ranches. After Carrillo's daughter, Tony, left the estate, the buildings began to fall apart. The City of Carlsbad acquired the remaining 10.5-acre ranch in 1977. It now serves as a park to educate and advocate for ranch preservation and restoration. The park is open daily 9 A.M.- 5 p.m. 1359

(KGTV) -- Authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying two women accused in a series of check frauds and commercial burglaries.On January 10, police say two women wearing scrubs targeted victims at several Bank of America locations in Carlsbad.The suspects reportedly asked victims in parking lots to cash checks for nearly ,000 promising to pay the victims for their help.After several days, the victims found out that the checks were returned as fraudulent.Investigators have determined that the total estimated loss was ,000.Anyone with information is asked to call the Carlsbad Police Department's Financial Crimes Unit at 760-931-2173 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a ,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest.  837

Carne asada is coming back to Chipotle’s menu. Citing strict sourcing standards, Chipotle says the meat option will only be around for a limited time.Between September 24 and 27, carne asada will only be available on digital orders. It will be available in restaurants on September 28.Chipotle offered the protein option for a few months at the end of 2019 and into 2020. They report it was one of their fastest-selling proteins, with more than 10 million servings.
