The charges, to which he pleaded not guilty, cover allegations from 1998 to 2010.In late May, a grand jury indicted him with 11 more charges pertaining to one of those four accusers. Those charges included not only aggravated criminal sexual abuse but also more serious charges: aggravated criminal sexual assault, a Class X felony; and criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony.A person convicted of Class X felonies generally can be sentenced to up to 30 years in prison, according to Illinois law. According to the American Pediatrics Association, children who are on the autism spectrum have about a 50 percent chance of going missing at least once before turning 17. Having a student run away was always a fear for Kristal Franklin, executive director of Capital Preparatory in Tallahassee, Florida. "For parents, caregivers and educators, our biggest concern is that a student on the spectrum will become a runner," Franklin said. Just a few weeks ago, one of Franklin's students ran away. That child was found safe. But she knew she needed to find a away to make sure her staff is prepared if that ever happens again. That's when she found Scent Evidence K-9. "It's one more step in being prepared and being secure," said Franklin. "Knowing in our community that we have this resource that so many communities don't have, I think it's fabulous." TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A suspect is in custody after allegedly attacking a person at a Taco Bell in Tallahassee, Florida.The local police department says 32-year-old Mia Williams entered the fast-food restaurant on South Monroe Street shortly before 6:18 p.m. Wednesday, doused the victim in the gasoline, set the person on fire and then fled the scene on foot.The victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital by helicopter.Before Williams’ arrest, officers provided the public with a suspect description. The assailant was said to wearing a black shirt with white writing, tan capri styled pants, a red head wrap and several necklaces around her neck. TAMPA, Fla. — The City of Tampa has built a tent city that will house 100 homeless people during the safer-at-home order in Hillsborough County. The camp will be open on Monday.For the next 30 days, Tampa will pay Catholic Charities Diocese of St. Petersburg to run the temporary tent city, called Hillsborough Hope. Tampa officials did not provide the location of the tent city due to safety reasons.Along with the 100 tents, the site will include a mobile laundromat, mobile shower trailers and six portable toilet rentals. Those living in the camp will be fed three meals a day and will have access to on-site medical treatment.The Catholic Charities will also supply the residents with water bottles and hand sanitizer.Hillsborough Hope is open to any homeless person except for registered sex offenders.Anyone who shows up to the camp will be screened for COVID-19. If someone presents symptoms of the coronavirus, they will be referred to BayCare Health System.Each tent is spaced about 5 feet apart and will only house one person.Every person staying at the camp will be issued a wristband that corresponds to their tent number. Researchers in Germany have recently published a study finding that a small percentage of people have developed an addiction to shopping. The October 2019 study released in Comprehensive Psychiatry explores the addictive response to shopping. The study found that 1 in 20 of adults developed an addiction to shopping. The researchers dubbed the addiction as "buying-shopping disorder" (BSD), which "is characterized by extreme preoccupations with and craving for buying/shopping and by irresistible and identity-seeking urges to possess consumer goods."While the study looked at shopping more broadly, the researchers believe that the ability to shop online is feeding the addiction. "As e-commerce provides an important shopping environment, traditional BSD may migrate into the online retail market," the study states.
