TIJUANA, Mexico. (KGTV) – A U.S. Army veteran who has been living in Mexico for the past eight years found out Thursday that he is being granted citizenship.Hector Barajas was granted a full pardon by Governor Jerry Brown in 2017 for a conviction that led to his deportation, according to the ACLU.In 2001, Barajas was convicted of shooting at an occupied motor vehicle and sentenced to prison, leading to the deportation.Barajas has been waiting for a decision since he passed the English and civic portions of his naturalization requirements in 2016.RELATED: U.S. army veteran fights to return after deportation?In 2017, Barajas filed a lawsuit in an effort to compel officials to make a decision on whether or not to grant him citizenship. The lawsuit was dismissed after the Department of Homeland Security made their decision.Barajas was born in Mexico but raised in Los Angeles since the age of seven. TORREY PINES (KGTV) - Two paragliders, one from San Diego and one from Orange County, died after colliding in mid-air and crashing into a cliff Saturday afternoon.It happened near Torrey Pines Gliderport around 2:45 p.m. Police confirmed both paragliders were men. One of the men was 61-years-old and the other man was 43-years-old, officials said. Both of the men were certified .Witnesses sat stunned when they watched the paragliders become intertwined, "I initially heard the collapse of the chute... I heard a collision, and some kind of sound, and looked over and saw two people falling from the sky," Madeline Henderson said."It was spinning but it was like in slow motion and I could see the guy, I don't know what he was trying to do but I felt bad for them," Irene Marquez said from the passenger seat of a car. She said it was her first time at the Gliderport and was traumatized by what she saw.Rescuers have recovered both of the bodies.Witnesses say the paragliders collided mid-air, a chute collapsed, and they spiraled to the ground and hit the cliffs. 1076

Ticketmaster is reportedly exploring ways for concertgoers to return to shows safely amid the coronavirus pandemic.According to Billboard, one way is to verify that they've been vaccinated or tested negative for the virus before attending a show.The ticket-selling company said they'd set up a way for the customers' test results to be sent to third-party health companies. Through its digital app, Ticketmaster would tie those test results or vaccination status to a ticket digitally that'd be used to enter events, Ticketmaster president Mark Yovich told the outlet.According to Yovich, concertgoers would be required to get tested approximately 24 to 72 hours before a show.Billboard reported that Ticketmaster would not have access to users' medical records nor store their results or medical information.The company added that they'd only receive notification that fans have been OK'd to attend an event on a specific date. 936
