The Washington Nationals visited the White House on Monday, five days after bringing back to Washington the city's first World Series title in 95 years. Although the visit was a rather cordial affair, one player's headgear drew some attention. Nationals catcher Kurt Suzuki donned a "Make America Great Again" hat during his visit, which drew the approval of President Donald Trump, who used the slogan during his 2016 presidential campaign. But the sight of Suzuki wearing the hat seemed to have upset some Nationals fans, who expressed their displeasure on social media on Monday. Many Nationals fans booed Trump and chanted "lock him up" during Trump's visit to Nationals Park for Game 5 of the World Series. Trump had just 4 percent of the vote in 2016 in Washington.Although most of the Nationals' roster was on hand for the White House visit, some intentionally stayed away from the gathering. “People say you should go because it’s about respecting the office of the President, and I think over the course of his time in office he’s done a lot of things that maybe don’t respect the office,” Sean Doolittle told the Washington Post. LGBTQ activist Charlotte Clymer expressed her frustration on Twitter today. "Not gonna lie: having spent the past decade cheering on the Nats and the last several months obsessed w/ their playoff journey, it's pretty heartbreaking to see Kurt Suzuki and company go far beyond polite reception and cozying up to a monster who hates people like me," she said. The two-time defending champs Golden State Warriors were buoyed early in Game 5 on Monday by the return of reigning Finals MVP Kevin Durant. But two minutes into the second quarter, Durant reinjured the same leg that kept him out of the first four games of the NBA Finals. The Warriors then proceeded to blow a double-figure lead in the second quarter. But a 9-0 run later helped Golden State erase a six-point deficit in the final three minutes to win Game 5 by a 106-105 margin. The Raptors lead the best-of-7 series 3-2.Durant's status is unknown, but he was seen wearing a boot and on crutches. The Warriors said that he will have an MRI performed on Tuesday."Prayers to KD. He gave us what he could," Warriors star Stephen Curry told ABC after the game.Durant's injury prompted applause by some Raptors fans in Toronto. The gesture clearly disturbed members of the Warriors. Members of the Raptors gestured to the crowd to stop cheering as Durant was helped off the court. Kevin Durant is helped to the 1019

There's new concern about medical costs because of the coronavirus. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, we were already seeing hospital costs rising.Insurance comparison website Quote Wizard looked at a decade of data and it determined the average cost of a hospital visit went up 36% to more than ,300 a day. In some states, the increase was higher.“Why that matters right now during COVID-19 is obviously there is a stress on the healthcare system with people being sick from coronavirus but also significant numbers of people losing their jobs,” said Adam Johnson, a Quote Wizard analyst. “Millions of Americans losing their jobs and when they're losing their jobs, they're losing their employer sponsored health insurance.” Rising hospital costs are due in part to uninsured and underinsured patients that receive care. However, there's another significant contributor that could be easier to correct.“In other countries where health care systems are a little more uniform, the administrative aspect is much lower, 1 to 3% of total healthcare costs, but in the United States, that’s around 8%,” said Johnson. Hospitals did get some emergency relief funding under the CARES Act and other stimulus bills. That will help offset some of the extra COVID-care debt, but only time will tell how the crisis will impact future costs. 1335

Toni Harris is an undersized defensive back with huge dreams. The free safety wants to be the first woman to play in the NFL.While that may be a long-shot wish, she is going to be the first woman -- other than a kicker -- who will attend college on a full football scholarship. Harris, 22, signed a letter of intent this week with Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri, to play at the NAIA school."I always try to push myself every single day and keep my faith in God to let me go as far as I want to go," she said earlier this month before Toyota aired an advertisement about her during the Super Bowl. The ad focused on how people underestimate her as a player."I've never been a big fan of assumptions," she says in the spot.According to 764
