A 6-year-old Maryland child was struck by a car while exiting a school bus Tuesday afternoon in Charles County, Maryland, WJLA-TV reported. The child, who has not been identified, reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries from the incident, authorities told WJLA. Tuesday's incident comes hours after a similar incident took place in Tennessee. Tuesday morning, a 41-year-old woman was charged with felony reckless endangerment and illegal passing of a school bus or failure to yield to a stopped school bus after striking a 10-year-old child boarding a school bus, WJHL-TV reported. The boy suffered minor injuries, and was taken to the hospital as a precaution, WJHL-TV reported. Tuesday's incidents are a reminder of the dangers children face at the bus stop. "We have evacuated [sic] our headquarters building as a safety [sic] precaution, and law enforcement is presently addressing the situation."According to the Sacramento Bee, a manila envelope addressed to Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez was received by the CA DNP's downtown Sacramento headquarters.The envelope was delivered around 11 a.m. with the day's mail and staff placed it outside and called police as soon as they noticed it, the Bee reported. 834

(KGTV) — Riverside County health officials have announced the Stagecoach and Coachella music festivals — originally rescheduled for October — have been canceled for 2020.Citing concerns over a fall surge in coronavirus cases, Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser signed the order canceling the popular festivals."I am concerned as indications grow that COVID-19 could worsen in the fall. In addition, events like Coachella and Stagecoach would fall under Governor Newsom’s Stage 4, which he has previously stated would require treatments or a vaccine to enter," said Kaiser. "Given the projected circumstances and potential, I would not be comfortable moving forward. These decisions are not taken lightly with the knowledge that many people will be impacted. My first priority is the health of the community."Riverside County says it is in contact with festival organizer Goldenvoice regarding the cancelations.As of Wednesday, Goldenvoice had not issued specific guidance on refunds for the two festivals, but offers general refund guidance for concerts on its website here. 1105

A 20-year-old woman, who in August was pronounced dead and later found to be breathing in a Detroit funeral home, died on Sunday, an attorney representing the woman's family said.Timesha Beauchamp died Sunday of brain damage at Children's Hospital, Fieger said."Our whole family is devastated. This is the second time our beloved Timesha has been pronounced dead — but this time, she isn't coming back," Beauchamp's family said in a statement.On Aug. 23, Southfield Fire Department paramedics responded to a home after receiving a call about an unresponsive woman. When they arrived, the department's fire chief said Beauchamp wasn't breathing. After about 30 minutes of standard revival efforts, first responders determined that Beauchamp was deceased."Because there was no indication of foul play, as per standard operating procedure, the Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office was contacted and given the medical data. The patient was again determined to have expired and the body was released directly to the family to make arrangements with a funeral home of their choosing," the chief said in a statement in August.Hours later, the staff at the James H. Cole funeral home realized Beauchamp was still breathing.
