In this particular class, the students are learning how to cook, and their instructor is an executive chef. “Adulting School is really about a positive way to reframe the sh*t that we have to do as adults,” says Rachel Flehinger with the school.Flehinger says the topics they work to reframe include finances, budgeting, home repairs and more.“If you change it from a chore to just a fun choice, then you can have fun in your life, and that’s what they realize,” Flehinger says.But some topics might surprise you.“Like conflict resolution is really important,” she says. “Because in this day, there’s not as much face to face talking, so how do we approach people? Our bosses? Amazon customers no longer need to save their receipts or boxes if they need to return an item. Starting Monday, Amazon purchases can now be returned at all Kohl's locations nationwide. According to Kohl's, no receipt or box is needed in order to return items. Instead of a receipt, customers can now have a QR Code emailed to their account. A Kohl's representative will then scan the QR Code off of a cellphone and process the return. The program began as a pilot at 100 locations nationwide. The return program now encompasses 1,100 Kohl's locations nationwide. “The nationwide rollout of the Amazon Returns program is our single biggest initiative of the year,” said Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief executive officer. “Our top strategic priority is driving traffic, and this transformational program does just that. A mother has been arrested and charged after workers at a day care center in Sandusky, Ohio, found bruises on her 4-year-old child. Loryn Smith, 21, was arrested after daycare workers at Kiddie Korral noticed her 4-year-old son had visible injuries on his body, according Sandusky police. On Wednesday, after the boy arrived at the daycare center, staff members noticed he had two visible bruises on his left arm. When asked where the bruises came from, the boy told staff they came from his mother, police said. The boy told daycare staff that Smith had struck him multiple times with a belt and a shoe and asked for an ice pack for his injuries. The workers then took the boy into a private room and asked him where he was in pain. He showed them bruises, scratches, swelling and several superficial lacerations on his legs and arms, according to police. Staff at Kiddie Korral then contacted Erie County Children's Services.After further investigation into the boy’s injuries, bruises, welts and superficial lacerations were found on his legs, buttocks and lower back. Purple and red bruises were found on the boy's thigh, hip and inner groin. The boy told Children's Services that he had been hit “a lot” by Smith and that she has told him to “stop being bad,” according to police. Children's Services staff told daycare workers the boy would not be released to Smith and he was transported to a nearby hospital due to the pain he was in. After locating Smith, she told police that she did hit her son but that it was disciplinary. Smith was arrested and charged with endangering children, felonious assault and domestic violence. A migrant shelter in Tornillo, Texas that's housed thousands of children may close next month.A tent-like facility in Texas that houses unaccompanied migrant children may close next month after they are all released to parents or sponsors in the US. That's according to an official who spoke with several news outlets, including CNN and CBS News.The migrant shelter is located near the Tornillo-Guadalupe Port of Entry and operated by BCFS, a nonprofit that operates health and human services programs. The shelter opened this past summer with a capacity of about 300 people. Now, it reportedly houses between 2,400 to 2,800 children. The official told news outlets the facility will no longer accept children and will close after the last child is released to either a sponsor or another facility run by the Office of Refugee Resettlement. The federal government's contract with BCFS will expire on December 31st, and the source says the non-profit does not plan to extend it.An exact closing date for the facility has not yet been announced.
