A woman was arrested in Crossville, Tennessee, after allegedly riding an electric shopping scooter from Walmart to Waffle House. Crossville police said 45-year-old Sally Selby was charged with theft after officers pulled her over driving in the slow lane on Main Street. She claimed she got the cart from Walmart and was driving it to Waffle House to get a cup of coffee.Selby told police she had built the cart and someone had ripped the lights off of it. Walmart employees confirmed the cart belonged to them. Investigators said surveillance video showed her enter the store and began shopping with the scooter. A town in Oklahoma is under a mandatory evacuation order after flooding has sent a series of barges careening towards a local dam.The city of Webbers Falls issued a mandatory evacuation order Wednesday after flooding caused two barges to break loose from the Port of Muskogee on the Arkansas River.The barges are currently headed toward the Webbers Falls Lock and Dam 16. Should the dam fail, it could cause catastrophic flooding in an area already affected by high waters.The barges also caused a partial shutdown of I-40 in Oklahoma.According to Scripps station KJRH in Tulsa, the I-40 bridge in Webbers Falls was hit by a barge in May 2002 and collapsed. A new study shows that gastric bypass surgery for weight loss is working just as well in adolescents as it does for adults, if not better.Dr. Thomas Inge, chief of pediatric surgery at Children's Hospital (Aurora) Colorado who led the study, says teens are able to reverse the health conditions that are associated with obesity, such as Type 2 Diabetes and high blood pressure, much more efficiently.The results show early intervention can lead to better long-term results, he said. But it's not for everyone — about 8 percent of American teenagers would qualify."It's not just 30 pounds overweight, it's more — more like 75 to 100 pounds overweight, with an identifiable complication of the obesity," Inge said.Some doctors are hesitant to try the procedure and are concerned about the surgical risk, he said. They want to make sure the teens get enough nutrients with the new restrictive diet.Inge said he hopes the research will lead to more access for teenagers who want to explore the option.
