Caesars Entertainment Corporation announced plans Wednesday to bring a non-gaming Caesars Palace resort to beach-front property along the coast of Puerto Los Cabos, Mexico. The 0 million luxury beachfront hotel will be developed by Grupo Questro. Caesars Entertainment will manage the property and receive a licensing and management fee. It is set to break ground in early 2019. The non-gaming luxury beachfront hotel will feature 500 rooms and suites, a 40,000-square foot convention center, a 25,000-square foot full-service spa, three fine dining restaurants, an array of amenities including an entertainment venue, pools, cabanas, fitness center, tennis courts and access to the two signature golf courses. The beach-front property will be situated in the Puerto Los Cabos Tourist Corridor and the San Jose del Cabo resort city on the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.The announcement of the Puerto Los Cabos project follows last week’s announcement that Caesars Entertainment will manage two luxury hotels and a beach club at Meraas’ Dubai-based Bluewaters Island development. (KGTV) - After Monday's arrest in the death of a Carlsbad woman found on a hiking trail, prosecutors must now decide whether to charge the teenage suspect as an adult.A 17-year-old teen from Carlsbad was booked on murder charges weeks after Lisa Thorborg, 68, was found stabbed to death along Hosp Grove Trail.Investigators tell ABC 10News police work led them to the teenager, before DNA evidence confirmed their suspicions. Former District Attorney turned criminal defense attorney Paul Pfingst says prosecutors must now decide whether the accused should be tried as an adult."An adult for a first-degree murder case can receive a 25 years-to-life sentence. A juvenile can only be kept until the age of 25," said Pfingst.A decade ago, Pfingst represented Heather D'Aoust. At the age of 14, she killed her mother with a claw hammer. D'Aoust was charged as an adult, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 16 years to life.Pfingst says unlike in that case -- thanks to new state laws -- if prosecutors do charge the 17-year-old as an adult in the Carlsbad case, a judge will have the final say."The more dangerous that person is, they most likely they are to be charged as an adult," said Pfingst.Pfingst says the biggest factor is the crime itself."Is the act is such that it demonstrates such a wanton disregard for life and for people around them that the person needs too be confined?" said Pfingst.Pfingst says the background of the suspect will heavily scrutinized."Including whether they've been involved with gang activity, prior acts of violence, prior acts of rebellion," said Pfingst.Police in the Carlsbad case declined to say if the teen has a criminal history. CAMERON PARISH, La. – Hurricane Laura made landfall along the Louisiana coast, specifically near the community of Cameron. Not much information has come out from there, in part because several of the roads that lead down there remain flooded. Highway 27, one of the main roads in and out of the communities of Creole and Cameron, is covered in water.A deputy with the sheriff’s office said they had not been able to return to their station in Cameron. They left Wednesday before the storm.The roads are barely passable there – in order to get to an elevated bridge on 27, drivers need to use a gravel shoulder between the main road and the waterway that runs next to it. About 12 miles from the shore, the road begins to flood.It can be a little deceiving here in coastal Louisiana because the coast is made up of bayous and marshes.Some people have taken it upon themselves to bring their personal boats in an attempt to get to some of those communities along the coast.The sheriff’s office said some people did ride out Hurricane Laura in some of those coastal communities, but communications have been spotty at best. As for the roads, the water will need to recede, before the recovery there can truly begin. 1220

(KGTV) - Police are on the hunt for a reported prowler in the North County, accused of peeking into homes - and entering them on occasion - as residents slept.Carlsbad Police (CPD) released a sketch of the suspected prowler (above), described as a Hispanic or Caucasian male, who has reportedly been looking into windows while residents sleep.Police said the suspect entered a residence on at least two occasions through an unsecured window.
