SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Gas & Electric this week turned off power to tens of thousands of customers due to high wind conditions, but almost three days into the shutoff, some customers say they’re running out of options and need their power back now.East County resident Cynthia Chisum told ABC 10News, “It isn’t fun. We’ve lived in this house for 45 years. So, I know about power outages. But we’ve never had one of these preemptive power outages.”Chisum isn’t new to red flag warnings and what that comes with, as precautions are taken to make sure everyone stays safe.But this time Chisum is running out of options. Her family has been relying on candles, lamps, and battery powered equipment to make it through. Their big problem is the freezer -- without any power, their food is close to rotting.“We have a freezer full of fish that my husband caught during a fishing trip and we hate for all that to go spoiled,” Chisum said.Chisum said it was windy Wednesday night, but since then it’s been calm. That’s why she believes her power should be restored quickly.SDG&E posted an update on their website laying out their restoration plans, saying “crews are conducting visual inspections of each impacted circuit to determine whether there were any wind related damage before power can be restored.”The utility also said crews are looking for safety hazards such as downed lines, debris or tree branches caught in power lines. If no damage is found, power can be restored quickly.For those impacted by the outages, SDG&E has set up drive-thru resource centers where customers can get water and snacks or charge devices. 1646

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Crime Stoppers released new video Wednesday of a suspected arsonist they believe set several fires in the Point Loma and Ocean Beach areas last month.San Diego Metro Arson Strike Team investigators say during the early hours of Sept. 28, between 12:30 a.m. and 5:03 a.m., six separate fires were started in the backyards of homes. Various items were ignited, investigators say, at the following locations:12:30 a.m. - 4500 Muir Avenue1:12 a.m. - 2100 Froude Street2:22 a.m. - 4300 Piedmont Drive2:50 p.m. - 4117 Catalina Place4:04 a.m. - 4300 Monaco Street5:03 a.m. - 3900 La Cresta DriveA white, compact SUV similar to a Toyota RAV4 was seen in the 4100 block of Catalina Place just before a fire was discovered at that location, investigators added.Video and photos show a person in a hooded sweatshirt, shorts, and sandals walking in the yard of a home where one fire ignited. In the video, the person can be seen walking with what appears to be a piece of paper in one hand and cigarette in the other, before disappearing from the video. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Residents in Sherman Heights are worried about a new homeless storage facility expected to open up in their neighborhood. The facility would reportedly go up on the corner of 20th and Commerical streets. It would have up to 1,000 individual storage bins. People in Sherman Heights say they don't want the facility to be an eyesore and were never consulted by the city. The facility would be similar to one that already exists on 16th Street. That facility provides lockers and storage bins for approximately 400 people. The facility is city-funded but run by the non-profit organization Think Dignity. The city is hosting a community forum about the storage facility on Friday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Sherman Heights Community Center.  811

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police homicide detectives investigated Monday the death of a woman whose body was discovered by her sister.Officers were called to the home in the 4000 block of Van Dyke Ave. between Polk and University Avenues just before 9 a.m., police said.A woman went to the home to find her sister, who she had not seen since Saturday. When there was no answer at the condominium, the sister contacted the landlord.Upon entry, the woman found her 36-year-old sister lying dead on the floor.Family has identified the victim as Muna Kuri. San Diego Police say her death was a homicide. 611
