Talking to a wide range of Black voters Tuesday in South Carolina, the big topic on everyone’s mind is racial tension.“I kind of feel like it’s a lot going on. It’s kind of scary, now that I have kids. So I’m just hoping after today, a little changes,” a voter said.Mika Gadsden says she was born to Jim Crow refugees. She is now a political activist and says she recently asked her father if the racial tension we’re seeing today is similar to what he experienced decades ago. His answer was not what Gadsden expected.“He actually surprised me and said that this is unlike some of things he saw growing up. So I said ‘Pops, you’ve seen the clan in action’ and he said ‘yes, but that was typically under the shadow of night. You didn’t know who, what, when or where’. He feels as though it’s more brazen now,” Gadsden explained.Trudy Grant is a senior consultant for the Conference of National Black Churches. She’s actually been organizing drivers to get people to the polls Tuesday.She says what happened to George Floyd and so many other innocent people of color really impacted the political views of the Black community this election season.“That happened in the front of the world. So it’s not as if we’re making up that there’s police brutality. We don’t have to make it up. You all saw it. And so I think that has made the difference. It has opened the eyes of not only the Black community, but also everyone around the world,” Grant said.A majority of the Black community we spoke to is in favor of a Biden-Harris win. But there is a group of Black conservatives who are rallying behind Trump, like Charleston community leader Johnathan Thrower.“He’s been one of the only Republican presidents that have talked straight to Black America,” Thrower said. “I’d be nervous if Biden becomes president. One of the things I’d be nervous about is how will be handle the economy during COVID. TEMPE, AZ — A train has caught fire after a derailment on a railroad bridge over Tempe Town Lake.The incident occurred around 6 a.m. local time on the south side of the lake near Mill Avenue.A spokesperson with Tempe Fire Department says the incident involves a Union Pacific train that derailed and caused a partial bridge collapse over Tempe Town Lake.About 90 firefighters from multiple departments are at the scene of the second-alarm hazardous materials response.A Union Pacific spokesperson says eight to 10 rail cars caught fire and three tank cars fell onto an empty park area below.The spokesperson says two tank cars contained cyclohexanone and one contained a rubber material. None are believed to be leaking and no tank cars were involved in the fire.One person was reportedly treated for smoke inhalation, but the train crew is not injured. No other injuries have been reported.The Phoenix region's Valley Metro says light rail trains are not crossing Tempe Town Lake at this time due to the fire. The BlackBerry phone, which many of us probably thought was a thing of the past, is officially coming back.OnwardMobility announced on Wednesday that the phone would be manufactured by FIH Mobile, which is a subsidiary of Foxconn Technology.“Enterprise professionals are eager for secure 5G devices that enable productivity, without sacrificing the user experience,” said Peter Franklin, CEO of OnwardMobility in a press release. “BlackBerry smartphones are known for protecting communications, privacy, and data. Taco Bell said on Thursday that it is eliminating one of its most iconic and long-time menu items from its list of options.The Mexican Pizza will be removed from the Taco Bell menu starting November 5. Other items leaving the menu are the pico de gallo and shredded chicken. The shredded chicken is used in a number of items, including quesadillas, tacos and burritos.Taco Bell is adding a chicken chipotle melt, which is grilled chicken, creamy chipotle sauce and cheddar cheese; and the Dragonfruit Freeze, which is a tropical frozen beverage. Students who survived the school shooting in Florida are using their voices to try and spur change. It’s young voices, that haven’t heard before who are speaking up.Seven seniors from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School — Jack Haimowitz, Ronnie Froetschel, Vincent Frettoloso, Matthew Horowitz, Cole Sumner, Cain DeLima and Joey Mondelli — say they hope the tragedy spurs change.“The day that changed everything,” Mondelli said, when asked how he wants people to remember the day of the shooting.“I don’t want them to look at it as a statistic,” Somner said. “I want people to see this as the last one.
