ATLANTA (AP) — The former Atlanta police officer who fatally shot Rayshard Brooks is set to appear in court Tuesday to ask a judge to release him from jail while his case is pending. Garrett Rolfe faces charges including felony murder in the killing. Rolfe fatally shot Brooks in the back when Brooks fired a Taser in his direction while running away after a struggle on June 12. At least one person is injured after a man opened fire at a hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana Wednesday morning, according to reports. The man was shot in the leg and is expected to be OK.Around 6:30 a.m. ET, officers got called to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport - St. Mary Medical Center for reports of a shooting.Officers treated it like an active shooter situation and local media in the area said hostage negotiators were on the scene. The hospital was closed to new arrivals for a time Wednesday morning. Shreveport police believe the suspect in Taniel Cole, and think he may have gotten out of the hospital before they could find him. 648

Ashland University in Ohio is offering a new ,000 scholarship to talented Fortnite players."Fortnite Battle Royale" will be offered in fall 2018 as part of the university's esports program.The AU esports team will be the first known program in the country to add the game to its official offerings. Head Coach Josh Buchanan is excited to add the popular game to the college's gaming titles."Fortnite appeals to both the core and casual gaming audience," said Buchanan in a news release. "We're excited to provide this platform for gamers who want to showcase their skills in a more competitive space."The team at Ashland will arrange four-player teams that practice regularly and compete together.Scholarships will be awarded to players based on skill level and academic requirements.The university plans to conduct open tryouts for Fortnite players next school year. Ashland already offers League of Legends, Overwatch, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Rocket League in their esports program. The coach hopes eventually other schools will for programs to set up collegiate leagues for the team to compete against.  1184

ASPEN, Colorado – Former professional cyclist Lance Armstrong found himself in a Colorado hospital Thursday after crashing his bike on a trail near Aspen.Armstrong posted on Instagram that he was riding the Tom Blake Trail in Snowmass Village when he took a spill and hit his head.As a precaution, Armstrong went to Aspen Valley Hospital to be checked out. 369
