(KGTV) - Chula Vista Police are asking the public for help solving three hit-and-run cases that have remained unsolved since January of last year — two of which resulted in deaths.The first occurred on Jan. 22, 2017, at about 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway and G Street. Police said 43-year-old Rafael Cruz Fermin was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound on Broadway. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene in what was described as a red, 2002-2005 Ford Explorer or Mercury Mountaineer.Fermin died at the scene, despite being given first aid. Read more.The second incident was on Sept. 14, 2017, at about 7:30 p.m. in the 700 block of E Street. A driver struck a 52-year-old man between the McDonald's and Motel 6, before fleeing the area. The victim was left with severe internal injuries, of which police say he still suffers from.The driver, described as a possibly older, white man with short white or blonde hair, was last seen in a gold, older model Pontiac, Lincoln, or Buick. CHICAGO, Ill. – Travis Scott has become the first person since Michael Jordan to get a signature meal at McDonald’s.The fast-food chain announced its partnership with the Houston-born rapper last week, saying they plan to collaborate on food, fashion and community efforts.From Sept. 8 through Oct. 4, McDonald’s says it will offer “The Travis Scott Meal,” which includes a Quarter Pounder with cheese, bacon and lettuce, fries with BBQ sauce to dip, and a Sprite. (KGTV) — A man is in critical condition after police found him in his vehicle suffering from a bullet wound early Saturday.Chula Vista Police said officers were called to E Street at the southbound Interstate 5 off-ramp just before 2 a.m. to a report of a single-vehicle crash. The driver was found suffering from traumatic injuries. Fire and paramedic crews needed to use special tools to extract the man from his vehicle, according to CVPD.Police discovered that the man was suffering from a bullet wound and he was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, police said. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Protests are planned over the demotion of a popular South Bay principal.Mary Rose Peralta had been principal of Chula Vista High School since 2013. Viktoria Camacho was one of her former students.“She was a great leader. She was one to walk down the hallways with a smile on her face,” Camacho said.“My freshman year of high school was 2013 and that was actually Ms. Peralta’s first year as principal. We always kind of had that ‘we started high school together’ journey,” Camacho said.Peralta was removed from her position at the end of the school year. She is now the principal at Chula Vista Middle School. Supporters, as well as a petition online, said her demotion had to do with giving her students a “creative step for graduation to give class of 2020 a warm goodbye.”ABC 10News covered the event, where the names of all 642 graduating seniors were painted on the field.A district spokesperson would not confirm that graduation had anything to do with Peralta’s demotion.“Ms. Peralta began the school year as the principal at Chula Vista Middle School. CINCINNATI -- A 911 operator who was placed on leave after a teen's death will return to work Wednesday.Police spokeswoman Tiffaney Hardy couldn't say if that operator, Amber Smith, would face any discipline because an investigation is continuing.Smith took the second call Kyle Plush placed to 911 as he suffocated in his van outside Seven Hills School.
