(KGTV) — The Port of San Diego and Regional Airport Authority have reached an agreement over a fee that threatened to delay the revitalization of Chula Vista's waterfront.The Airport Authority agreed to withdraw from a lawsuit challenging a .50 rental car fee added to car rentals at the San Diego International Airport to fund a parking garage for the Chula Vista Bayfront project.Under the settlement, the Port also agreed to a number of provisions, "that protect a number of Airport Authority interests."RELATED: Dispute over airport fee could delay Chula Vista Bayfront project“We have reached a resolution that addresses the funding mechanism for a parking facility that will serve the public for many years to come. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Federal and local authorities, in addition to hazmat crews, were called out to the scene of a drug raid in Chula Vista after agents found fentanyl and THC extraction on the property. The raid happened at a home on 2nd Avenue Wednesday afternoon. DEA officials confirmed the search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation. DEA agents arrested one man during their search, and he is suspected of mixing fentanyl with other illegal drugs, according to a DEA spokesperson. Agents did not identify the man or disclose the amount of drugs found. The hazardous materials teams were summoned to the scene to investigate any possible contamination in the neighborhood and to process the drugs that were discovered. 747

CHULA VISTA, Calif (KGTV) -- More than 20 people showed up to a town hall meeting hosted by the Baldwin and Sons regarding their development in Otay Ranch.Right now, the massive project includes 292 condos, 300 apartments, a 2-acre park and 15,000 square feet of commercial and retail space, as well as two hotels.  One of the hotels opened in 2017, and condos are under construction.The developer now wants to add 300 more apartments to their plan.  They say the plan will not require any additional space but instead will require a different building and site design.RELATED: Developer wants to add 300 apartments to Chula Vista propertyMany in the community raised concerns about traffic and the overcrowding in schools at the open house. Developers were there to address those concerns.According to Nick Lee, a study of the area says the roads it can accommodate nearly 12,000 trips a day. Even with the additional 300 units, it would push those numbers to around 8,000 trips a day.They also said they’ve spoken with the Elementary and High School districts, and both have told them they should be able to accommodate the students with their existing facilities.The developers expect to bring the new plans to planning commission next month. 1268

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- The City of Chula Vista is highlighting local businesses that are adapting to serving customers outdoors because of the pandemic. City officials started posting pictures on the city's Facebook and Instagram pages on Monday. Since Monday, they've highlighted barber shops, art galleries, restaurants and yoga studios. The city is calling them ABC, or Accommodating Business Champions. The plan is to feature a different business every day. Itaglo Pasta Bar was one of the businesses featured. Owner and Chef Alejandro Vicens says he was happy to see his business featured by the city. Like so many businesses, Vicens has moved everything outdoors to be able to continue to operate. The city says it plans to continue highlighting business that are moving outdoors. City staff also tells 10News they've been going around the city taking pictures of those that are doing things properly to serve their customers. On Sundays during the month of August, Chula Vista also approved for a portion of Third Avenue to be closed to traffic, so businesses can expand onto the street. 1111
