DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A 95-year-old grandmother in Florida was arrested Saturday after police said she slapped her granddaughter in the face with her slipper before calling 911 to get her out of the house.According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Hattie Reynolds told police her granddaughter, Janeen Williams, 46, would not get out of bed, and that she was "tired of her staying in bed all day soaking up the air conditioning."When officers arrived at the home, Williams told police she did not want to press charges, but because of "strict domestic violence laws" Reynolds was arrested.According to a Florida statute, police officers have the ability to determine if an arrest is needed in a domestic violence instance once probable cause is established."If your wife reported that you threatened to hit her, you would be arrested because that is a domestic violence assault," police Chief Craig Capri told the News-Journal. "I just feel bad for her but the officers did their job as required by the law."Reynolds was booked in the Volusia County Jail and released the next day on her own recognizance.  1126

Joining Def Leppard, Jackson, Nicks and Radiohead are The Cure, Roxy Music and The Zombies.Among those artists nominated who didn't make the cut were Devo, LL Cool J, Rage Against the Machine and Todd Rundgren.Artists are nominated for Hall of Fame induction each year by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation's nomination committee. DENVER – As Colorado teachers prepare to walk out next Friday to call for higher wages and increased school funding, some state lawmakers are working to make sure any plans to strike don’t go unpunished by introducing a bill in the Senate that could put teachers in jail for speaking out.The bill, SB18-264, would prohibit public school teacher strikes by authorizing school districts to seek an injunction from district court. A failure to comply with the injunction would “constitute contempt of court” and teachers could face not only fines but up to six months in county jail, the bill language reads.The bill also directs school districts to fire teachers on the spot without a proper hearing if they’re found in contempt of court and also bans public school teachers from getting paid “for any day which the public school teacher participates in a strike.”The bill, which was introduced this past Friday, is sponsored by State Rep. Paul Lundeen and Sen. Bob Gardner, both Republicans.Mike Johnston, a Democrat?eyeing the gubernatorial seat in 2018, has spoken out against the bill, calling it a “tactic designed to distract from the challenges facing Colorado’s education system rather than solving them.”“Teachers across the country, from West Virginia and Oklahoma to Arizona and here in Colorado, are speaking up for themselves and their students. We need to listen to teachers now more than ever. This legislation attempts to silence their voices rather than working to address their concerns. Demonstrators in Sacramento marched Friday to California's Capitol during a second day of protests over the police-involved shooting death of Stephon Clark, an unarmed black man.The crowd walked about a mile from the city's Tower Bridge to the steps of the seat of state government.They chanted "Black lives matter" and called out Clark's name. One of the march leaders told people to hold up their cellphones; police have said Clark had an object in his hand, but no weapon was found."It's just a cellphone," the man yelled out. "I don't know how the hell it looks like a gun to anybody else."The shooting incident began Sunday after 9 p.m., when Sacramento officers responded to a report that a man had broken car windows and was hiding in a backyard. DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) - A local woman says that a man posed as a Del Mar plastic surgeon and groped her for several minutes during a consultation exam. Team 10 investigative reporter Jennifer Kastner verified that he is the manager of a cosmetic surgery center, but he is not a licensed medical provider. He denies any wrongdoing.“All I can remember is being in the car and just bawling, just crying,” she tells us. She claims that the crime against her was deeply personal, so we’re not revealing her identity.She says her tears came just minutes after she says she left Del Mar Cosmetic Contouring Surgery. It’s a private business located in a medical office building off of El Camino Real.“He pinched my nipples. He grabbed the side of my chest. He lifted [my breasts] up with both hands,” she tells 10News. She’s talking about Dario Moscoso, who operates the cosmetic surgery business that specializes in fat contouring. “She’s a liar. She’s trying to extort money,” says Moscoso. “Do you touch patients?” we ask him. He replies, “No. I do not touch patients.”She says she visited the office for a full body contouring consultation, when Moscoso allegedly took her to an exam room, alone, had her disrobe, and grabbed her all over without gloves on. She tells us that he had her pull her pants down, too.“Did you think Mr. Moscoso was a plastic surgeon?” we ask. “Yes. He wore a white coat…he had a clip board. He had paperwork that I was signing,” she responds.“Have you ever represented yourself as a plastic surgeon?” we ask him. “No,” he replies.We also ask, “[Do you make] it very clear with each patient coming in that you are not a licensed medical provider?” “Absolutely,” he tells us. “If they try to disrobe, I do not allow it. [I] absolutely do not allow it,” he adds.His Instagram account shows “Plastic Surgeon” under his name.“That is a category,” he explains. He tells us that it represents the industry that he works in, not his profession. The woman who’s accusing him of groping her tells us that the consultation made her extremely uncomfortable, but she was desperate to change her body. So, she put down a deposit, left the office, and called back at a later date.“I was na?ve,” she says.When she later called back, she says she learned that a Doctor Gerald Schneider would be doing the procedure. Schneider is on probation with the Medical Board of California for sexual misconduct with another patient. He is still allowed to practice with Moscoso as a third-party chaperone. Moscoso says that he and Dr. Schneider always follow that rule.Schneider would not do an interview with 10News.He, Moscoso and their cosmetic procedure businesses are now being sued for what the alleged victim says happened to her.“[It’s] an absolute lie. It never [happened]. In all the years that I've been doing this, I have never had that happen before,” Moscoso adds.The alleged victim doesn't buy it. She thinks that other patients have been assaulted, too. “Come forward. Come forward, because he needs to be stopped,” she adds.
