Antwone Berry was found shot and killed in January in Milwaukee, two weeks after he went missing.Milwaukee police say 34-year-old Skylard Grant is accused of killing Berry. According to police and family members, the two were close friends around each other a lot. That's why this killing is senseless to them.“It's just ridiculous, to come to find out that someone that's very close to you and be the one to hurt you," said Tashe Lee, Berry’s cousin."He didn't deserve that, you know that was the wrong thing," said Steve Lee, another cousin.Berry went missing on Christmas Eve, for two weeks his family searched all over for him in the cold.He was found shot to death two weeks later on Jan. 7 in a wooded area in Milwaukee.According to the criminal complaint, witnesses say Grant was drunk and began arguing with Berry about not sending him money when he was previously in jail.Grant allegedly shot and killed Berry with his own gun. Grant tried to then sell Berry's gun to another friend, who declined and asked of Berry's whereabouts. Court documents show that's when Grant said."....you ain't gonna be seeing him no more, I had to take care of him," he allegedly said. "That wasn't fair to him it wasn't fair to us for somebody to be getting taken away from us," Tasha Lee said.  "Just hoping for the best, hope that he gets life, that’s what I want for him to have life, he took my cousin's life, he deserve to have life."Grant was actually arrested for this case on Jan. 4. Investigators analyzed phone records placing grant near the area where berry's body was found. Surveillance video also showed Grant's SUV near the scene the day Berry went missing.Homicide numbers from Milwaukee Police for this year indicate that of 32 homicide cases so far in Milwaukee this year, 14 remain open. 1834

An Arkansas sheriff's office has arrested a woman who helped her boyfriend escape from the county jail last month by posing as a deputy from California.Maxine Feldstein, 30, was arrested Aug. 17 in connection with forgery, accomplice to third-degree escape and criminal impersonation.Feldstein's boyfriend, Nicholas Lowe, was at the Washington County Detention Center on July 27 with a hold for criminal impersonation out of Ventura, Calif., according to a probable cause affidavit.Feldstein, who had bonded out earlier that day, called Washington County jail staff and identified herself as deputy "L. Kershaw" with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office. She also provided a forged VCSO document releasing the agency's hold on Lowe.Jail staff learned of the forgery and accidental release two days later, when a VCSO deputy called to say he was on his way to pick up Lowe.The sheriff's office discovered through jail video that Lowe told Feldstein to pose as a VCSO deputy while she visited him, according to the affidavit.Lowe said Feldstein should tell Washington County that VCSO was "having issues with overcrowding and all low-priority extraditions have been suspended," according to the affidavit.Washington County later confirmed the VCSO document Feldstein used was fake, and that VCSO didn't have a deputy named "L. Kershaw," according to the affidavit.Lowe was also arrested Friday and faces a felony charge of second-degree escape.A spokeswoman for the sheriff's office said the agency is "still evaluating to determine the best corrective action needed to ensure this doesn't happen again.""There is a procedure to ensure requests are legitimate, and that hasn't changed," she said.Feldstein and Lowe were being held Tuesday (Aug. 21) at the Washington County Detention Center on bonds of ,500 and ,000, respectively.The pair has hearings set for Sept. 5 in Washington County Circuit Court. 1920

An attempt by officials in Paris to tackle public urination by installing open air urinals, or "uritrottoirs," has outraged some residents of the French capital.The new urinals, housed in flower boxes, aren't subtle -- they're fully exposed on street corners, painted bright red, and have nearby signs advertising their presence.One in particular, located near the Notre Dame cathedral, has drawn attention for its view of the River Seine.The "intelligent urinals," which have a straw layer that eliminates odor, were installed in areas where public urination is a problem, according to a statement from city officials.Officials say the urinals are eco-friendly -- they will harness nutrients in waste to produce compost for parks and gardens. According to the statement, one year of a person's urine holds enough nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium to fertilize 400 square meters of wheat.However, these features have done little to calm the ire of local residents, who have written to the town hall in protest."I think installing a urinal in the streets of Paris for those who don't respect their surroundings is a good idea, but in my opinion, this model is not attractive at all, and where it's been set up is not appropriate at all," one man told reporters.Another resident complained, "it is definitely a desirable and historic neighborhood, but seeing people urinating right in front of your door is not the nicest thing."Ariel Weil, mayor of the 4th district of Paris, tweeted in defense of the urinals on Monday, calling them "an invention of genius."
