(KGTV) — Thousands of passengers remained stranded on a cruise ship off the San Francisco coastline Saturday, after 21 people aboard tested positive for the new coronavirus this week.The Grand Princess cruise ship said they are awaiting direction from state and local health officials about where they will be allowed to port. Gavin Newsom has previously said officials will work to identify all potential COVID-19 patients aboard before deciding how to bring the ship to shore.Late Friday, gloves and face masks were delivered to the ship by a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter. Earlier the same day, the National Guard delivered testing kits and supplies.In the U.S., 11 people have died from the virus and at least 400 cases have been reported. (KGTV) - Southwest Airlines announced plans to begin offering flights to four Hawaiian airports later this year.The airlines will begin selling tickets sometime in 2018 for flights to Honolulu International Airport, Lihue Airport, Kona International Airport at Keahole, and Kahului Airport.Southwest didn't say when the flights would begin service to the islands, prices for flights, or from which airports flights would depart from on the U.S. mainland.A Hawaii-specific page on Southwest's website has since gone live as well.Southwest is reportedly waiting for federal regulatory approvals as certification is required for flights over long distances of water, multiple outlets reported. Extra pilot training and stringent maintenance and replacement of parts are required for flights making such a trip.The news comes on the heels of the airlines said ticket sales have dipped in the wake of a fatal accident aboard a Southwest flight earlier this month. 991

That's the accusation from Republican rival John Cox who says Newsom has agreed to only one debate thus far, despite several opportunities being offered.Newsom tells 10News he has already been part of four debates with Cox but critics point out that was during the primary campaign with other candidates sharing the stage.Newsom tells 10News he prefers meeting with people at town halls where there's more time for interaction with the audience and less grandstanding.RELATED: Gavin Newsom, John Cox to face off in November General Election"Candidly, the last three out of four of our debates, looked like Jerry Springer shows than substantive dialogue," said Newsom. But political analyst Kevin Riggs says its no surprise Newsom is shying away from debates at this point in the race."He's ahead in the polls, he's ahead in the fundraising, at this point his campaign is an exercise in risk management," said Riggs. On Friday they met with lawyers to learn more about what happens if they come into the United States seeking asylum.President Trump instructed the secretary of homeland security not to let them in.
