SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- An Amazon delivery driver was caught on video tossing a package onto a driveway like it was a newspaper, and the customer is not happy about it. “I order books. I’ve ordered Echos. I’ve ordered cameras on Amazon,” Del Cerro resident Yung Jun Kim said. He was worried someone might, one day, steal a package.“I ordered the ring camera to monitor the delivery,” Kim said “The first time the Amazon delivery happened on-camera, the driver drove into the driveway, didn’t even get out of his car, rolled down his window and threw my package onto the driveway."Kim found the package on the porch when he got home. What happened was also caught on video.“It was really great, because my mailman came by about 15 minutes later and he picked it up from the driveway and left it on my doorstep,” Kim said.Kim thinks the Amazon deliver driver threw his neighbor's package as well.“The video showed him pulling into her driveway for about 10 seconds and pulling back out. So, in that time, I don’t think he got out of a car and went into her courtyard and delivered it that way," Kim said. "He probably just threw it on the driveway."This time, Kim’s package was not fragile - but the driver didn't know that. Kim emailed Amazon and complained.“Customer service responded that same day, and they gave me a long apology and said they were going to look into it, which, I don’t know if they did," he said. "They also gave me a credit for my troubles."Kim says he hopes Amazon will get better drivers, because based on the video - they've got at least one with a negative attitude. "It takes very little effort to get out of the car to make a delivery onto a porch," Kim said. 10News reached out to Amazon. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego nonprofit is hoping to tackle the homeless crisis with a creative solution.The nonprofit, Amikas, envisions a San Diego where every woman and child has a safe place to live in.They hope to build emergency sleeping cabins, which could temporarily house homeless women and children as they look for a permanent place to live. "They're small, they're immediate, they go up in a matter of days, and so we can house a lot of people very quickly with this solution," said Shanna Welsh-Levin, President of Amikas.Designed by San Diego-based Treecycling, the homes are inexpensive and can be built within 24 hours. The cabins are mobile, able to be dismantled within a few hours. "We built these things like houses so they feel like homes," said Gabriel Stafford, with Treecyling. The house built this week is on display at the Meridian Baptist Church in El Cajon. The ultimate goal would be to run a two-year pilot program, creating an emergency cabin village to test the idea. Welsh-Levin is inviting city leaders and the community to come to learn more about the effort. 1105

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A woman was killed and her young son was taken to the hospital Friday morning following a two-car crash on a Mira Mesa street.Late Friday night, friends at a vigil for the young mother confirmed to 10News that her name is Judy. A photo of Judy left at the vigil is attached to this article. The collision in the 7200 block of Calle Cristobal was reported just after 7 a.m., according to San Diego police.“It’s not very safe at all.” Neighbor, Lara Janda had been saying this for years, about her own driveway at Canyon Park Villas in Mira Mesa. “There are so many accidents that we have seen, heard, or we’ve almost been in a few,” Janda said.Then, on Friday morning, she saw what she had feared for years.Through the heavy fog, she found her neighbor’s car, crunched into another. The cars were mangled. There was glass everywhere. “There was no movement or anyone coming out of the vehicle,” Janda said, of her neighbor’s white Acura Legend.Police said the victim pulled out of the driveway of an apartment complex and was traveling southbound when a collision occurred with a Honda Accord traveling westbound on Calle Cristobal.The 27-year-old woman died at the scene, and police said the woman’s 4-year-old boy sustained a broken pelvis, broken ribs, a fractured skull and broken right knee. The child’s injuries are considered life-threatening. He was transported to Scripps La Jolla, then to Rady’s Children’s Hospital for treatment.Police said the boy was in a child safety seat at the time of the crash.Janda said she is saddened by what she knew was eventually going to happen. She said she reported the dangerous intersection to traffic police at least four times in the last two years, but saw no change. She believed what made it so awful this morning, was the combination of the fog, the speeding drivers, and the blind intersection.“We have high foliage here, and this large pole here, so it’s very difficult to see who is coming around this corner,“ Janda said, pointing at the road.For one family, Good Friday has become the worst day of their lives.And a neighborhood is now shaken up, hoping an accident like this, will never happen again. 2229

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An apologetic teenage girl explained how she crashed her mother’s car into her neighbor’s garage in Encanto Friday.13-year-old Akasha Alexander had been taught how to start the BMW in the morning to help her mother. On Friday, the car was parked a big too close to the edge of a steep hill.The girl pulled the clutch and the car took off, crashing through the neighbor’s fence, clipping a water line, and ending up in the garage.“I see the fence go down and i'm like, oh no, and then all I see is boom,” said Alexander.Neighbor Melvin Glover’s daughter and grandchildren are visiting him for Easter. They said the impact shook the Glover home and frightened them all.The car was towed from the home.Alexander said she plans to bake Glover a red velvet cake. 784
