Beginning Tuesday, anyone traveling to Hawaii must fill out a "Safe Travels" application, the Hawaiian government announced.In a news release, the government said the health information the travelers provide on the application would be a way for them to protect the health of their residents and visitors during the coronavirus pandemic.The new screening process will also include temperature checks upon arrival and secondary screening for anyone with symptoms or temperatures of 100.4℉ or higher."I am pleased to launch this digital app, which will allow our travelers to provide their required health and travel information before they arrive at the airport," said Gov. David Ige in the press release. "It will also help us keep in contact with those who are required to be in quarantine. This is an important step in preparing to reopen our economy."Currently, the government has visitors fill out two different forms: one for inter-island and trans-pacific travel."This [new] platform provides a one-stop-shop for both types of travelers," the government said.The way it works is that travelers will enter their information and travel plans 24 hours before their flight. They'll then receive a QR code via email, which they will scan at the airport upon arrival.Gov. (AP) — An egg has been laid in a nest shared by two bald eagles in Southern California and nature lovers will anxiously watch for the hatching via an online live feed .U.S. Forest Service biologist Robin Eliason said Wednesday that the parents will share incubation duties for the next month or so. Eliason expects the hatchling will arrive in early April.The video feed shows an eagle nestling on the egg Thursday as strong, cold winds blow through the San Bernardino National Forest. A count completed late last year found 11 bald eagles living in the forest east of Los Angeles.The Institute for Wildlife Studies web page has thousands of comments from people watching the feed. BALTIMORE (AP) -- The U.S. Department of Justice won't bring federal charges against six police officers involved in the arrest and death of Freddie Gray, a young black man whose death touched off weeks of protests and unrest in Baltimore.The officers were charged by state prosecutors after Gray's neck was broken in the back of a police transport wagon in April of 2015. Bill Cosby's sentencing hearing is set for September 24 and 25, according to a court order from Judge Steven O'Neill.Cosby was found guilty last month of three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his home in a Philadelphia suburb in 2004.The 80-year-old comedian faces up to 10 years in prison on each count, although the actual sentence is likely to be much shorter."He was convicted of three counts of (indecent assault), so technically that would be up to 30 years," Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said after the verdict. "However, we have to look at a merger of those counts to determine what the final maximum will be."Some legal experts have said they do not think Cosby will spend any time behind bars. His defense team has said it will appeal the guilty verdict, and it is possible that O'Neill will allow Cosby to remain on house arrest until that appeal is resolved.For now, Cosby is not permitted to leave his Pennsylvania home. If he does leave the state for another home, it would have to be arranged ahead of time, and he would have to wear a GPS monitoring device, the judge ruled.Janice Baker-Kinney, who testified that Cosby drugged and raped her in 1982, said he should spend time in prison."I believe that it's essential he spend time in jail, and it wouldn't break my heart to see him spend the rest of his life in jail," Baker-Kinney said after the verdict.In general, judges can take any number of factors into account when issuing a sentence.
