POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) - A state inspection found 12 flaws in Poway's drinking water delivery system less than three months before the city's precautionary boil water advisory.City officials remain adamant that the issues raised by the inspection had nothing to do with the nearly week-long advisory that ended Dec. 6. The September 2019 inspection, from the State Water Resources Control Board, raised a series of issues - some administrative. It says some of Poway's distribution system reservoirs haven't been cleaned or inspected in more than five years; that the city's coagulant feed pump meter isn't working, and that the city needs to update its water quality alarm systems for chlorine and clarity. RELATED: Poway businesses affected by boil water advisory get help from San Diego County"The following is a summary of our findings and a discussion of deficiencies observed during the inspection, which must be addressed to better protect public health and improve system reliability," says the inspection, dated Sept. 19. The city issued the precautionary boil advisory on Nov. 30 after a Thanksgiving rain storm. A storm drain overflowed and backed up into its water treatment facility's clearwell reservoir due to Thanksgiving rains. Residents began reporting brownish water. The city temporarily fixed the problem, but state officials have said they anticipate issuing fines. RELATED: Mayor: Water Crisis critics are politically motivatedPoway officials expressed shock at that revelation, citing the September report. The city has declined to release the report, but 10News obtained it from the state via a Public Records Act request. The city declined a request for an interview, but a spokeswoman said it has met the deadlines the inspection gave to address the issues it raised. 1802

President Donald Trump railed against the Iran nuclear deal Tuesday, calling the Obama administration-negotiated deal as "insane" and "ridiculous" while seated next to French President Emmanuel Macron in the Oval Office. The outburst proved that a dinner of Dover sole and a glitzy military welcome could not paper over the two leaders' differences as they begin intensive talks on Iran and Syria.Trump offered scant assurances to Macron that he was reconsidering his pledge to exit the agreement."People know my views on the Iran deal," Trump said. "It was a terrible teal. It should have never been made."It was an auspicious start to Trump's inaugural state visit, which has been in the works for months. Earlier in the day, the two men put forward an elaborate show of friendship on the South Lawn, reviewing cordons of troops in formation and recalling the long history between the US and France. But moments later, Trump was putting to rest any notion he might be swayed on the Iran deal, which Macron hopes to salvage, perhaps by altering its terms."Iran seems to be behind everywhere there is a problem," Trump said in the Oval Office. "They're testing missiles. What is that all about?""What kind of a deal is this where it wasn't even discussed?" he added. 1272

POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) - Who should get vaccinated against Hepatitis A? Everybody. It's true, the hepatitis A outbreak is hitting the homeless population around downtown San Diego the hardest but even a North County doctor is advising her patients the vaccine is a good idea for most everyone."I felt it be best if I get protected against the current outbreak," Beverly Asbill-Gumbs said. She joined hundreds of others at the downtown library to take advantage of free vaccinations against Hepatitis A.RELATED: Vaccination, sanitation and education plan to end hepatitis A outbreakThe virus is most commonly spread through direct contact among those without access to adequate hygiene, which is why it's hit the homeless population so hard. But what about other parts of the county; more insulated from the heart of the outbreak?"So, I don't want people to be inappropriately concerned but i do think there needs to be some awareness," Dr. Elizabeth Salada, of Palomar Health in Poway, said.RELATED: Health officials say Los Angeles hepatitis A cases tied to San Diego outbreakSalada serves patients from largely affluent neighborhoods. So, you might be surprised to hear her advise to them on getting vaccinated for Hepatitis A."I do believe it's probably prudent for people to get vaccinated if they can," Salada said. "Just the fact that it's in the community and we're a very mobile society and we touch things that other people have touched, then, we're at risk."The recent scare at a popular Pacific Beach restaurant -where a worker was discovered to be infected- points out the risk can pop-up anywhere.RELATED: El Cajon joins in sanitation campaign to stop hepatitis A outbreak"We do have an obligation to each other. Number one by good hygiene and hand washing and number two by vaccinating if appropriate," Salada said. For the downtown area, the City of San Diego will be offering free hepatitis A vaccinations Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, for at-risk populations, particularly homeless individuals. Vaccinations will be given by qualified providers at Golden Hall, 202 C St., from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.MORE COVERAGE: 2148

President Donald Trump has reportedly signed off on a .8 trillion COVID-19 relief package.According to CNN, two sources with knowledge of the decision said the offer would be presented to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.According to the Associated Press, a GOP aide familiar said Pelosi's most recent public offer was about .2 trillion.Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Pelosi spoke for more than 30 minutes Friday afternoon, the AP reported. But according to Pelosi's spokesman, the newest offer doesn't "include an agreement on a national strategy for testing, tracing and other efforts to contain the spread of the virus," the New York Times reported.News of Trump signing off on a new stimulus relief plan comes just days after announcing he wasn't negotiating for a new COVID-19 relief bill until after the elections. 832

President Donald Trump retweeted an edited video Sunday morning that showed him swinging a golf club and appearing to hit his former presidential campaign rival Hillary Clinton with a golf ball. The animated GIF image Trump retweeted spliced together footage of Trump taking a swing on a golf course with footage of Clinton tripping and falling as she boarded a plane in 2011 as secretary of state. The footage is edited to make it appear as though Clinton is hit in the back with a golf ball before her fall.  522
