SAN DIEGO (CNS) - San Diego County public health officials Sunday reported 373 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths, bringing the county's totals to 52,355 and the death toll remaining at 853.Officials are imploring San Diegans to maintain vigilance as positive case rates for the coronavirus continue to increase in the region."We are now concerned about the trends and we are concerned about the likelihood we could tip back to purple, Supervisor Nathan Fletcher said on Twitter today. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Sales of previously owned single-family homes in San Diego County dropped 10.5 percent in July compared to June, according to data released Wednesday by the Greater San Diego Association of Realtors.Month-over-month single-family home sales fell from 2,221 in June to 1,989 in July. Condominium and townhome sales fell from 1,162 to 994, a 14.5 percent drop, according to the association.Single-family home sales and sales of condominiums and townhomes saw smaller decreases when compared to July 2017. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Some San Diego city council members and employees present at a city council meeting this week were informed Wednesday that an employee at the meeting has tested positive for coronavirus.The positive patient attended Tuesday's meeting and a request was made of affected individuals to schedule a COVID-19 test and self-quarantine for the next two weeks, according to a spokesman for Mayor Kevin Faulconer.Anyone entering a city facility is subject to temperature checks and must adhere to social distancing protocols and employees must wear face masks.Council members Chris Cate, Monica Montgomery, Vivian Moreno and Scott Sherman were present for the meeting. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Testimony wrapped up Friday in the trial of a North Carolina man accused of raping and murdering a 79-year-old woman in her Normal Heights home more than three decades ago.Kevin Thomas Ford, 63, is charged with murder and a special- circumstance allegation of murder during a rape in connection with the May 20, 1987, death of Grace Hayden.Ford is accused of strangling the victim.
