BEIJING, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Prosecutors have approved the arrest of four employees of the Anglo-Australian mining giant Rio Tinto Ltd. on charges of trade secrets infringement and bribery, according to a statement of China's Supreme People's Procuratorate late Tuesday. Preliminary investigations have showed that the four employees, Stern Hu, Liu Caikui, Ge Minqiang and Wang Yong, had obtained commercial secrets of China's steel and iron industry through improper means, which had violated the country's Criminal Law, according to the statement.     Prosecution authorities also found evidence to prove that they were involved in commercial bribery. Four employees of the Anglo-Australian miner Rio Tinto Ltd. have been arrested over alleged stealing of China's state secrets, including Stern Hu, general manager of the company's Shanghai offic. The four people, including Hu, had been detained by China's security authorities Sunday evening    Investigations have also revealed that there were suspects in China's steel and iron enterprises who were providing commercial secrets for them.     The four were detained in Shanghai in early July on charges of stealing China's state secrets.          Stern Hu, an Australian citizen of Chinese origin, was general manager of the company's Shanghai office and was in charge of the iron ore business in China.     Hu was a long-standing employee of Rio Tinto and had lived in Shanghai for a number of years with his wife, who is also an Australian citizen.     The other three, who also worked in the Shanghai office, are Chinese employees of the company.

BEIJING, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong has asked schools to educate students comprehensively about national unity during recent a tour to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.     Liu said teachers should play a guiding role in helping students become "forceful practitioners, loyal promulgators, and strong guards" of national unity.     Great efforts should be made to develop education, science and technology, and culture in Xinjiang, Liu said. BEIJING, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- As more people made return trips to go back home and work, China saw a traffic boom on Thursday. Road transport departments nationwide carried 62.23 million passengers on Thursday, up 9.0 percent over the same day last year, according to the Ministry of Transport (MOT).     In the eight-day holiday, a total of 488 million passengers made journeys by road transport, representing an increase of 6.8 percent over the same period last year. BEIJING, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Most parts of China saw limited rainfall through Saturday as people could get view of a bright full moon in clear meteorological conditions at the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival.     Only the southwestern and part of the northwestern regions saw some rainfalls, but starting Sunday, weather in those regions will also clear up for the locals to get view of the full moon, according to China Meteorological Administration.     In the coming three days, parts of the northwestern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region expect a weak rainfall with strong wind. Temperature will drop 4-8 degrees Celsius after the cold front moves over the region.     Meanwhile, parts of the northeastern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Heilongjiang Province will also see some weak rainfalls in the next three days.     The Administration also warns of twin typhoons Parma and Melor churning in the Pacific Ocean.     Typhoon Parma which now is bearing down on the Philippines expects to bring gales and major rainfalls along China's southeastern regions in its course during the coming three days.
