Demonstrators in Sacramento marched Friday to California's Capitol during a second day of protests over the police-involved shooting death of Stephon Clark, an unarmed black man.The crowd walked about a mile from the city's Tower Bridge to the steps of the seat of state government.They chanted "Black lives matter" and called out Clark's name. One of the march leaders told people to hold up their cellphones; police have said Clark had an object in his hand, but no weapon was found."It's just a cellphone," the man yelled out. "I don't know how the hell it looks like a gun to anybody else."The shooting incident began Sunday after 9 p.m., when Sacramento officers responded to a report that a man had broken car windows and was hiding in a backyard. DENVER — A former teacher at East High School in Denver was arrested after accusations she smoked marijuana with her students during a party at her Denver home. Rachel Farley, 29, was taken into custody Monday on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a class 4 felony. According to an arrest affidavit, Farley invited students from her class to her home on August 18, 2017, to decorate clothing for Freshman Day. At some point during the event, she brought out marijuana and began smoking it with her students, the document reads.In February of this year, police say they were dispatched to the school after a student reported that Farley had been providing and consuming marijuana with her students at her home.Police interviewed nine students as part of the investigation and “multiple students admitted to smoking with the suspect,” the document read. Farley resigned from East High School on August 31, 2017, according to a statement from Denver Public Schools. The statement stresses, “there was nothing notable about her resignation - she simply resigned.”After her resignation, DPS says she had been working as a volunteer in the music and drama department at the school. But after the allegations surfaced in February, she was “barred from volunteering for, contracting with or being employed by Denver Public Schools in the future.”Farley was listed as still being in custody at Denver City Jail as of Wednesday morning.  1502

(KGTV) -- Sixth-graders frolicked in the snow in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park Thursday, thrilled to learn about science."We're trying to take what they're learning in school and making it come alive," Principal of Cuyamaca Outdoor School Greg Schuett said. The kids come for a full school week, but the classes are unlike any these students have attended before."Last time my group went on a hike we saw something with erosion! So like what happened is the rain because of one day of rain it split one part of land into two parts," a sixth-grader said excitedly.Schuett said the students go on nature hikes. DALLAS (AP) — American Airlines began booking flights to full capacity Wednesday, despite record surges in the novel coronavirus across the country.The airline previously announced it would start booking to full capacity last Friday."As more people continue to travel, customers may notice that flights are booked to capacity starting July 1,'' the airline said in a statement. "American will continue to notify customers and allow them to move to more open flights when available, all without incurring any cost.''American isn't the only airline doing this.United Airlines already do not block any seats. But other major U.S. airlines including Delta and Southwest leave middle seats open or limit bookings to creating space between passengers to minimize contagion. (AP) — Ford Motor Co. will offer early retirement incentives with hopes of cutting its U.S. white-collar workforce by 1,400 more positions.President for the Americas Kumar Galhotra told employees about the offers Wednesday morning.
