DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) -- Lifeguards in Del Mar urged caution Tuesday evening after several young white sharks were spotted off the coast. According to the city, lifeguards spotted a juvenile shark Monday off 29th Street and again Tuesday off 15th Street. Specific times weren't mentioned by the city in a news release. The city says neither shark approached the shore or showed aggressive behavior. “Shark experts told lifeguards there is no cause for concern,” the city said. City officials say advisory signs posted Tuesday will remain in place for 24 hours. “Coastal waters in Southern California are a known nursery habitat for white sharks, according the Shark Lab, which studies the physiological and behavioral ecology of marine animals and the effect of human activity on the ocean,” the city added. 818

DETROIT — Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan was packed with people for Michelle Obama’s book tour Tuesday night.Although, before she hit the big stage, the former first lady made a visit to the famous Motown Museum, where a group of college students were surprised when she walked through the door.The group of teenagers, ages 18 and younger, all attend Wayne State University. They were at a forum to discuss various topics such as education, culture issues, goals and overcoming obstacles.The event moderator was actor, comedian and Detroit-native Keegan-Michael Key. DENVER – The 19th Judicial District Attorney’s Office on Thursday released a massive cache of documents and interviews related to the Chris Watts case following open records requests.Watts pleaded guilty earlier this month to killing his pregnant wife Shanann Watts and their two young daughters at their home in Frederick, Colo. in August. He was sentenced to three consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole, after which prosecutors started releasing all the documents related to the case.Last week, prosecutors released thousands of pages of documents that contained interviews and information about the investigation, which showed more details about how Watts killed his family and hid their bodies and the deteriorating relationship between himself and Shanann. 793

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A woman in Florida is being charged with animal cruelty after being caught on video throwing a dog off a motel balcony.The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office shared body cam footage of the incident when they announced the arrest of 35-year-old Allison Murphy on Tuesday.Warning: Some may find the video below disturbingOfficers say they responded to the Dayton Beach motel around noon Monday after staff reported that Murphy had been standing over a railing and threatening to jump. She also allegedly attacked a maid.When law enforcement arrived, Murphy reportedly locked herself inside her room. After knocking several times, the sheriff’s office says the women came out with a leashed German shepherd, which she picked up and threw over the railing to the ground.Authorities say the dog landed feet first and ran away before being corralled by bystanders. It was then turned over to Volusia County Animal Services, who nicknamed her “Miracle,” because no name was provided.“Miracle” was taken to an animal hospital for emergency evaluation. She thankfully escaped serious injury, but an x-ray did reveal a sewing needle was lodged one of her thighs, according to the sheriff’s office. She underwent a procedure to remove it and is recovering in the care of a foster family, who wants to adopt her if a court grants animal services custody.As for Murphy, the sheriff’s office says she was taken into custody and will be facing felony charges of animal cruelty and resisting an officer with violence. 1528
