Two major airlines. A cybersecurity firm. Six car rental brands. A home security company. An Omaha bank. Companies have scrambled to cut ties with the National Rifle Association over the past couple of days, and the list continued to grow into the weekend.Delta Air Lines announced Saturday morning that it's ending discounted rates for NRA members. "We will be requesting that the NRA remove our information from their website," the company said in a tweet.United Airlines followed a short time later, saying the company will no longer offer discounts on flights to the NRA annual meeting. And TrueCar, a car buying service, said late Friday that it would end its deal with the NRA as of February 28.The companies were the latest to abandon partnerships with the NRA amid a renewed public debate over tightened gun laws following a school shooting in Florida last week that left 17 dead.First National Bank of Omaha on Thursday pledged to stop issuing an NRA-branded Visa card. A bank spokesperson said "customer feedback" prompted a review of its partnership with the NRA, and it chose not to renew its current contract. There was also a wave of car rental outfits. Enterprise Holdings, which runs the Enterprise, Alamo and National car rental groups, announced that it will end the discount deal it has with the NRA on March 26.On Friday, car rental company Hertz said in a tweet that it's also ending its NRA rental car discount program. The NRA was advertising a Hertz partnership on its "member benefits" page as recently as Friday morning, but that listing disappeared by the afternoon. The National Rifle Association did not immediately comment on Saturday about the decisions by the various companies to sever ties.Avis and Budget, which are owned by the same company, were also listed as discount providers on NRA's website Friday. But when reached for comment, Avis Budget Group told CNNMoney that it too was ending its partnership with the organization."Effective March 26, our brands will no longer provide the NRA member discount," an Avis Budget Group spokesperson said via email.More big names followed suit.A spokesperson for moving van lines Allied and North American, which are both owned by Sirva, said Friday that the brands "no longer have an affiliate relationship with the NRA effective immediately.""We have asked them to remove our listing from their benefits site," the spokesperson added. Students across the country have walked out of class to demand new restrictions on the sale of firearms and an end to mass shootings in the U.S.Some survivors of mass shootings confronted NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch at a CNN town hall on Wednesday. Loesch blamed a flawed system for letting people who shouldn't be able to buy guns slip through the cracks. Two other companies -- the insurer Chubb and Wyndham Hotel Group -- confirmed to CNNMoney Friday that they've recently ended partnerships with the NRA. However, those decisions were made prior to the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida last week.Chubb said in a statement that it "provided notice of our intent to discontinue participation in the NRA Carry Guard insurance program" three months ago.The NRA Carry Guard program offers coverage for certain costs associated with gun-related accidents or incidents in which the gun owner claims they lawfully acted in self defense.Lockton, another insurance firm, continues to underwrite policies for the NRA Carry Guard program, according to the NRA's website. TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Kanye West's petition to appear on New Jersey's ballot as a presidential candidate fails to pass legal muster because signatures are incomplete, and in some cases appear written in the same hand. That's according to a formal complaint filed with the state on Wednesday by election law attorney Scott Salmon. Salmon, a Democrat, filed the objection with the state Division of Elections after reviewing the more than 1,300 signatures West submitted. New Jersey requires presidential candidates to get 800 signatures to appear on the ballot, but Salmon says he counted more than 600 that were in some way defective. The petition shows that a number of signatures appear written by the same hand, including lower-case i's dotted with a small circle. 774

Twice in the last week, the San Diego Loyal have walked off the soccer field in protest. Both times, one of their players was the recipient of a slur directed at them by the opponent. In their game against Phoenix Rising, Collin Martin was the target of an alleged homophobic slur."When I heard that I lost it," says Loyal Head Coach Landon Donovan. "Because I know what this team has gone through, I know how hard it was for them to even take the field."Wednesday night's incident comes following a game last week against LA Galaxy II, when a Loyal player was called a racial slur."For it to happen again a week later was just devastating for me," said Donovan. In both instances, the Loyal left the field in protest, and forfeited the game."Our players in the heat of the moment and the passion of the moment still wanted to play."The two losses cost them points in the standings, and a USL playoff spot."Listen, when we are all on our death bed no one is going to remember if we beat Phoenix 3 to 1 at home. No one is going to remember that, but they will remember that they stood up for something they believed in, and they supported their teammate. They supported what's right."As for the Phoenix Rising player accused of the homophobic slur, Junior Flemmings released a statement saying it was a false accusation by the Loyal, and he's very disappointed. Donovan says although his team will not be in the playoffs, he doesn't regret any of the actions his team took the last two games."I understand that most people watching from afar probably don't get it, but we've been living it." 1597

Twitter users can now limit who can reply to their tweets.According to a blog post by Twitter's Director of Product Management Suzanne Xie, the new settings were rolled out on Tuesday."Since your Tweet = your space, we've been testing new settings to give people more control over the conversations they start," Xie said in the post. "Sometimes, people are more comfortable talking about what's happening when they can choose who can reply. We've seen people use these settings to have conversations that weren't really possible before. Starting today, everyone will be able to use these settings, so unwanted replies don't get in the way of meaningful conversations."Users can reply with the following three options: everyone, only people the user follows, or only people you, the user, mention. Before, anyone could respond.Xie explained that tweets with limited settings would be labeled, and the reply icon will be grayed out for people who can't reply. Those who can't answer will still be able to view, retweet, retweet with a comment, share, and like the tweets."These settings help some people feel safer and could lead to more meaningful conversations, while still allowing people to see different points of view," Xie said.According to the social media giant, they've received positive feedback. People said they felt more comfortable tweeting and more protected from spam and abuse, and 60% of people who used the new feature during the test didn't Mute or Block anyone, Twitter added. 1504
