A nurse in Illinois is no longer employed after posting on social media about running over protesters amid massive unrest gripping the country.According to WMBD-TV, the nurse is longer associated with OSF HealthCare after making “insensitive comments” on social media. It’s unclear if she was fired or quit on her own accord.“As previously shared, a Facebook comment made by one of our Mission Partners did not align with our values,” a spokesperson for OSF HealthCare told WMBD on Friday. “That person was immediately suspended, and as of today, is no longer with our organization. Words and actions that seek to marginalize or harm others have no place within our Ministry.The post read, “If I’m driving down the road with my horse trailer behind me. No matter who you are. If you’re in the road ‘protesting’ I will run you over. I will not stop. I will not brake. I will not hesitate. I’d rather go to jail than have you injure or scare my horses.”A number of Twitter users brought the May 31 Facebook post to the attention of OSF HealthCare in recent days. “Thank you for bringing this to our attention. A Nashville doggie day care has filed a lawsuit for million against people who they said have destroyed their reputation. They said online posts in a popular neighborhood Facebook page just weren't true.The Dog Spot in East Nashville filed the lawsuit for libel, fraud and other charges against Jamie Bayer and Bari Rachel Miley Hardin for comments they made on the East Nashville Facebook page starting last month.According to the lawsuit, Bayer posted in part: "...how many dogs have died at The Dog Spot?"  Adding, "I found out two dogs died there. Since then I've heard up to four, and recently even seven."The lawsuit says, among other things, Hardin posted "Lots of dogs have been killed there" and "people can't talk when they've been paid off."The lawsuit from The Dog spot says "These are false statements.""It's not acceptable, its not freedom of speech. you cannot yell fire in a movie theater," said Chad Baker, one of the owners of The Dog Spot. "Just because it's Facebook, doesn't mean you can go on, and say things that are not true, and what's being said about us is not true."There has been at least one dog death at the day care. Rachael Waldrop's Chihuahua "Hall" died after an incident with a larger dog last year. A Milwaukee County bus crashed near a busy college campus on Tuesday.The bus crashed near Johnston Hall on Marquette's campus in downtown Milwaukee.The Milwaukee Fire Department says at around 5:15 p.m. a Route 12 bus lost control while turning left. The bus ended up on the sidewalk near Gesu Church. Marquette Police said five people sustained non-life-threatening injuries. MU police also said the bus hit Johnston Hall and caused damage to the front of the building. The building was evacuated as a precautionary measure.  564

A mother in Mesa, Arizona is voicing concern after her child's 4th-grade teacher changed words in the Declaration of Independence, and made the students recite the altered version in class.The teacher at Salk Elementary school crossed out the words "man" and substituted it with "human".The mother, Elizabeth Vaillencourt said the teacher's goal may have been to include women as well, but she went too far in altering a historical document.When Vaillencourt took this concern to school officials, she was initially told she had "hurt the teacher's feelings" by posting about it on social media.The school reacted by removing Vaillencourt's child from that teacher's classroom, and placing them under a different teacher.On Wednesday, Vaillencourt said the superintendent's office contacted her to tell her what the teacher did was against school policy.A Mesa Public Schools spokeswoman says they have policies in place when it comes to school ceremonies which includes reciting the Declaration of Independence. 1030
