Peter and Brunie LaBozzetta were high school sweethearts and soulmates. They were married for 37 years before Peter passed away from kidney issues and a chronic heart condition in February."It was very, very hard. He was my everything," said LaBozzetta.In the depths of her grief, her future daughter-in-law gave her a gift, a silver pendant LaBozzetta filled with her husband's ashes. She hung it in her car. Peter was usually the navigator during a lifetime of drives together. "He was my co-pilot, and I wanted that to continue,' said LaBozzetta.Instead, the ride came to a halt Saturday afternoon in an apartment carport off Borden Road. She got in her car and immediately noticed the pendant was gone."Panic, scared, anger," said LaBozzetta.The flurry of emotions was sparked by a car break-in. LaBozzetta believes she locked the car, but isn't sure. Also stolen was her husband's disabled parking placard, which she was about to return to the state DMV. But it's the theft of that something priceless that's left her reeling. Facebook has suspended 200 apps for possible misuse of user data in the wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal.Facebook said in a blog post Monday that it has investigated thousands of apps after it emerged that Cambridge Analytica had harvested information on about 87 million users without their knowledge.It did not name the apps that have been suspended but said they would be subject to a more thorough investigation into how they handle user data.Cambridge Analytica, which worked on President Donald Trump's 2016 election campaign, used data collected via an app developed by University of Cambridge psychology professor Aleksandr Kogan. The app offered a personality test, but Facebook users who downloaded it also gave the professor permission to collect data on their location, their friends and content they had "liked."Kogan provided that data to Cambridge Analytica, in a breach of Facebook's rules. Facebook said it asked Cambridge Analytica to delete the data in 2015, but learned in March that this had not happened.Kogan has said he suspects thousands of other developers and data scientists used similar methods to gather information on Facebook users.In response to a backlash that cost the company billions in lost market value, Facebook said it would investigate every app that had access to large amounts of data prior to 2014, when it tightened its controls.Ime Archibong, Facebook's vice president of product partnerships, said in Monday's post that the company will ban any app found to have misused data. (KGTV) - Día de los Muertos came alive Friday night at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido.Dozens of families came to build memorial altars known as “ofrendas.” While many honored ancestors, the Fallbrook Youth Advocacy Coalition along with the North Inland Community Prevention Program came to honor those taken too soon. “We just want to prevent more families from having this event or having an experience of losing a loved one,” said Pastor Anger Medrano from Victory Outreach Church. The groups were raising awareness of teen drug and alcohol use which can have tragic consequences. Veronica Hernandez with Fallbrook Youth Advocacy Coalition said her daughter lost a friend this summer after she was hit by a DUI driver. “She was only 15 years old. ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) — CHP officers are searching for the driver who hit a motorcyclist in the North County on Friday and fled the scene.At about 6:30 a.m., a 44-year-old man was riding a 2014 Yamaha motorcycle on southbound Interstate 15 north of State Route 78. The driver of a Kia Soul changed lanes, hitting the motorcyclist, and ejecting him from the bike and into the center divider, CHP says.After the collision, the Kia avoided hitting the rider but fled the scene.The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital with major injuries that are considered non-life threatening.The Kia Soul SUV is described as being a 2014 year model or newer and brown in color. Vehicle parts with identification numbers that were recovered at the scene are being processed, CHP said.The vehicle will also have damage to the driver side and is missing a driver's side mirror, CHP added.Anyone with information is asked to call CHP at 858-560-0474. 948
