SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after a man was shot in the leg in East Village late Saturday night.Authorities say a 48-year-old man parked his car on 11th and E Street near City College Station around 10:50 p.m. Saturday.The man got out of the car and started walking when he saw two people arguing and heard gunshots.According to police, the man got into his car and began to drive away when he felt a pain in his right leg, looked down and saw that he was bleeding.Police said at this time, they don’t have any description of the suspects.The man drove himself to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 642

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Passengers from the Grand Princess cruise ship will be quarantined at MCAS Miramar amid coronavirus fears, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced Sunday.According to the Department, the ship will dock temporarily in a non-passenger port in the San Francisco Bay. Passengers will then be transferred to several federal military facilities throughout the country for medical screening, COVID-19 testing, and a 14-day quarantine. The earliest they could arrive is Tuesday, according to a DoD spokesperson.The nearly 1,000 passengers who are California residents will complete the quarantine at MCAS Miramar and Travis Air Force Base. It's unclear how many of the 1,000 passengers will be housed at Miramar. "MCAS Miramar is preparing to support HHS and their federally mandated quarantine for Grand Princess travelers," a spokesperson for the base said. "The safety, health and well-being of our guests and crew is always our top priority, and we continue to make every effort to ensure they are safe and comfortable while they remain onboard," Princess Cruises said in a statement.So far, 11 people in the U.S. have died from the virus and at least 400 cases have so far been reported. The reopening came in time for the heat wave.10News witnessed beachgoers from Pacific Beach to South Mission Beach who took advantage of the lifted restrictions.A heat advisory was in effect until 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Coastal highs were in the 80s and 90s."It was a lot of fun since we can’t get out that much," said Ashyton Malan who visited the beach on Tuesday with his family. Mother Jennifer Malan added, "People are far apart and not a lot of masks but there was nobody encroaching on anybody’s space so it was nice."The City reports that visitors are still required to practice social distancing with anyone outside of their household and they cannot congregate or participate in active sporting activities on the beaches. 871

Though he moved to the mainland, Puerto Rico never left him."It hurts," he said sadly, "every minute of the day, I walk, breathe, sweat, cry Puerto Rico."He's been hurting more for his home since 2017, when Hurricane Maria hit. "My family moved, with the exception of a couple cousins who live in Cabo Rojo." He said it was a joke, but now that friend now using it regularly, "he's in Isla Verde, so they lost power there, and it's periodically, it comes and goes. The food supply, water," he said was dwindling.He said a group caravaned from the north side of the island bringing supplies like diapers, formula and juice to those affected by the earthquakes.The positivity keeps Rosas going, "we don't give up, we won't lay down and say okay."He raised ,000 for supplies for the island and is planning another fundraiser.
