Gavin Newsom and his family are in quarantine, after they learned that three of their children was recently exposed to a California Highway Patrol officer who had tested positive for COVID-19.Newsom said late Sunday that he and his family were isolating for 14 days following the exposure. Newsom said he and his wife, Jennifer, had no direct interaction with the officer.He added that on Sunday, his family had all tested negative."Late Friday evening, [Jennifer] and I learned that 3 of our children had been exposed to an officer from the California Highway Patrol who had tested positive for COVID-19. Jen and I had no direct interaction with the officer and wish them a speedy recovery," Newsom said in a statement on social media. "Thankfully, the entire family tested negative today. However, consistent with local guidance, we will be quarantining for 14 days. We are grateful for all the officers that keep our family safe and for every frontline worker who continues to go to work during this pandemic."Newsom's spokesperson, Nathan Click, had said on Friday that one of the Newsom's children may have been exposed to the virus while at school, though at that time, Click said it was a classmate that had tested positive. (KGTV) – In an effort to conserve energy amid a lingering heat wave, DMV offices across California will close at 3 p.m. from Monday through Wednesday this week.The decision to close early was made to save energy and “protect the health and safety of customers and employees from high heat impacts,” officials with the agency said.The early closures run from Aug. 17-19.DMV offices will accommodate customers -- with and without appointments -- until 2:30 p.m. on the specified days.Customers who have appointments on the specified days between 2:30 p.m.-5 p.m. will be contacted and have their appointments rescheduled.DMV officials said customers can visit the agency’s website for many services.Officials added: “The DMV is also using shade structures where available, offering mobile tickets so customers can wait in an air-conditioned car or other building and return when it is their turn, and making water available to customers and employees.During the closures and where possible, DMV employees will telework. Those currently working from home during this period of excessive heat will continue to do so and are encouraged to reduce energy consumption, especially during peak hours.The DMV is also reducing energy consumption throughout the day by turning off all unnecessary lights and equipment and closing blinds and other window coverings. (KGTV) — Disneyland and California Adventure have announced that both theme parks will close starting Saturday through the end of March amid the coronavirus outbreak.While there have been no reported cases at either theme park, both locations were being closed "in the best interest of our guests and employees," following Gov. Jamba said the new name better reflects its menu, which has more than juices. It's expanding its offerings with smoothies, bowls and sandwiches as consumers gravitate toward healthier foods.The company said its loyal fans have been calling it "Jamba" for years. But the official name change is part of a larger modernization initiative for the 30-year-old company, which also includes a new mobile app, remodeled stores and new delivery options through Uber Eats and Postmates.Jamba is also trying to stay on trend with plant-based alternatives. Jamba said its beverages will soon be available to be made with spirulina, oat milk and pea protein."Food and beverage category lines are blurring so fast, especially in the premium functional segment, that it no longer makes sense to limit a brand's identity," said Duane Stanford, executive editor of Beverage Digest, a trade publication.
