A 14-year-old student at Anchor Bay High School in Fair Haven, Michigan was suspended and then faced expulsion after reporting a possible threat to the app OK2SAY.The teen's 10-day suspension ended on Monday night, with an expulsion hearing in front of the school board.  Dozens of supporters showed up with signs.The hearing lasted nearly six hours, with attorneys on both sides questioning school administrators, the school resource officer and the boy's parents. The ninth-grader used the app to anonymously report that he overheard someone saying they were going to shoot up the school. The FBI was able to identify the teen, according to attorney Calvin Luker who now represents the teen's family as they fight to stop the school board from expelling him. While Joseph McDonald, principal of Anchor Bay High School, said he cannot comment on a student's discipline, he said, in general, action can be taken against a student who knowingly reports false information. The teen has not been charged with any crime, and Saint Clair County Sheriff investigators say there was not enough evidence to obtain charges against the person who reportedly made the threat.Luker said the teen thought he was doing the right thing by reporting what he overheard, but instead of being praised for his bravery, the teen was suspended for ten days. The school board unanimously decided to dismiss the expulsion, but recommended law enforcement review the original threat.   1543

(KGTV) — President Donald Trump Saturday toured the destruction left behind by one of California's deadliest wildfires ever.The visit comes as the Camp Fire's death toll increased Friday, with authorities announcing 71 people have been killed and 1,011 people remain missing — though not everyone is believed to be missing.The Camp Fire ignited Nov. 8 and chewed through Northern California, virtually decimating the town of Paradise and ravaging nearby communities.RELATED: 497

(KGTV) - Southwest Airlines announced plans to begin offering flights to four Hawaiian airports later this year.The airlines will begin selling tickets sometime in 2018 for flights to Honolulu International Airport, Lihue Airport, Kona International Airport at Keahole, and Kahului Airport.Southwest didn't say when the flights would begin service to the islands, prices for flights, or from which airports flights would depart from on the U.S. mainland.A Hawaii-specific page on Southwest's website has since gone live as well.Southwest is reportedly waiting for federal regulatory approvals as certification is required for flights over long distances of water, multiple outlets reported. Extra pilot training and stringent maintenance and replacement of parts are required for flights making such a trip.The news comes on the heels of the airlines said ticket sales have dipped in the wake of a fatal accident aboard a Southwest flight earlier this month. 991

Those should be sent no later Dec. 11 (for cards, letters and priority mail packages) and Dec. 18 (for priority mail express military service, available to most destinations.)USPS has also created military care kits, including several free postal items, to help send packages overseas. The organization sends a variety of holiday care packages that can support up to 50 troops a piece depending on the option chosen. A link to their offerings, including phone calls home, comfort food packages, and more can be found here.Through Dec. 31, Johnson & Johnson will also match donations to the USO up to a total of 0,000.Other organizations facilitating care packages for troops include Operation Support Our Troops and Soldiers' Angels.
