SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One of San Diego's most historic neighborhoods will be on full display this weekend.The Barrio Logan Art Crawl hits the historic neighborhood on Saturday starting at 4 p.m. The free art crawl takes place every second Saturday of the month throughout the year from Main St. to Julian Ave.Attendees can check out Barrio Logan's galleries displaying works from local artists, breweries and restaurants throughout the neighborhood, murals, live music, and more.The event provides a way to highlight Barrio Logan's Chicano artistry and culture, from Chicano Park to the area's vibrant businesses and art."We just want people to come out and enjoy the importance of art and everything that happens here in Barrio Logan, from coming to the eateries to the breweries to the galleries we have here," Chris Zertuche, one of the event's organizers, says."Chicano Park is the heart of the neighborhood and they're the ones who provided a platform for us to have an art district here," Zertuche adds. 1014

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — More than 0,000 went missing from New Hope Friendship Baptist Church in 2008 and 2010, according to new Sheriff’s Department investigation report Friday.The investigation was an Internal Affairs probe into Lt. Devera Scott. Scott was also the treasurer for New Hope Friendship Baptist Church during the time the money went missing.The report claims Scott admitted to church officials she took the money. However, the church told investigators they did not want to press charges as Scott had promised the church she would it pay it all back through monthly payments, and a portion of her retirement.The church also told investigators they were in the business of forgiveness and did not want to ruin Scott’s career, according to the documents.Investigators also learned that Scott made the church a beneficiary to a 0,000 life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy.The internal investigation became public Friday, following the ruling of a San Diego judge. The decision comes after local media, including 10News, sued to keep police unions from blocking departments from releasing records related to officer misconduct.The San Diego Sheriff's Department was not part of the suit and has been releasing cases pursuant to SB1421, according to sheriff's department Lt. Karen Stubkjaer.Scott retired from the sheriff’s department on March 22, 2013, before the investigation into the missing church money was complete according to the documents. No charges were ever made against Scott.Other court filings suggest Scott might have been facing financial problems at the time.10News reached out to the church for comment. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - On Monday afternoon, two brothers were sentenced in connection to the deadly freeway shooting of a Navy sailor who stopped to be a good Samaritan.Edson Acuna and Brandon Acuna learned their sentences following the 2018 shooting death of Navy sailor Curtis Adams. Edson Acuna was given a term of life without the possibility of parole plus 25 years to life plus 27 years and four months. He was ordered to pay ,000 in restitution and pay for associated fines. “He's going to be in prison for the rest of his life until he takes his last breath and I think that will give him time to pay these from prison wages,” the judge told the courtroom.Edson Acuna was convicted by jury of first degree murder while Brandon Acuna pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter. On Monday, Brandon Acuna was sentenced to 13 years in prison.Prosecutors argued that they burglarized a car outside of a Mount Hope home which led to a shootout with the homeowner. They tried to get away but a blown-out tire caused them to stall on the freeway. Adams stopped to help but Edson Acuna shot him after thinking that he was the homeowner from the shootout earlier in the night.Harvey Liberato and Susana Galvan were also in the brothers’ car and have entered plea agreements.The judge concluded the hearing by telling the courtroom that he hopes both men reflect in the years to come on the magnitude of the loss that their actions caused. 1441

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - One driver was arrested after video of a road rage incident in Oceanside made its way into CHP's hands.Two drivers, one in a gray Ford Explorer and the other in a gray BMW convertible, were involved in the February 15 incident on eastbound State Route 78 in Oceanside, according to California Highway Patrol officers.Officers responded to a report of a non-injury, hit-and-run collision just before 4:30 p.m. near the College Blvd. exit. Officers arrived and found the Explorer on its side on the center median while the BMW reportedly fled.RELATED: Road Rage Crisis: Violence on the RiseWhile investigating, officers were made aware of a video recorded by a witness.The video showed the driver of the BMW, identified as 33-year-old Kevin McCall, left his vehicle to berate the driver of the Explorer, identified as 23-year-old Andrew Branch, who was still inside his vehicle, according to CHP.Officers said McCall spit at Branch before returning to his BMW. Branch is then seen driving into the center median and accelerating into the BMW, narrowly missing McCall.Sideswiping the BMW caused the Explorer to overturn onto its side. McCall then drove away, officers said."It was pretty shocking. It was pretty shocking," said CHP Officer Mark Latulippe.
