Police in Osceola County, Florida said a man was locked up after he was accused of trying to kill sex offenders.Officers said he tried to set the men on fire.Jorge Porto-Sierra has been formally charged with four counts of attempted premeditated murder.Osceola County detectives said the 50-year-old confessed to deputies he tried to kill multiple people at the Friendly Village Inn on Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.After his March 7 arrest, Porto-Sierra said he arrived at the motel to "barbecue all the child molesters on fire and kill them."WESH 2 News in Orlando confirmed at least two of the four victims are convicted sexual offenders.Witnesses told deputies Porto-Sierra made several threats, screaming, "I'm going to kill you, child molester," and allegedly began throwing gasoline on their front door.Porto-Sierra is accused of breaking a hotel window to pour gasoline inside.Witnesses said he was carrying a cigarette the whole time.Another couple said Porto-Sierra rammed their car and poured gas on it.When asked by deputies why he did not carry out his threats, Porto-Sierra said, "You got here too soon."Porto-Sierra remains behind bars at the Osceola County Jail.He's being held on no bond.  1219

(KGTV) - A San Diego native who was living in Paradise safely escaped the Camp Fire, however, she fears her home has been destroyed.Leila Rodriguez grew up in San Diego and moved to Chico for college. She said she recently moved to Paradise with her boyfriend.She was at work when the fire broke out but her boyfriend rushed home to save his mom and their dog. Parents deported from the US while their children were left behind is what experts think has happened to hundreds of families.A court-appointed steering committee began trying to reach the families of more than 1,000 migrant children two years ago.That's after a federal court ordered the reunification of many families that had been separated at the border under the Trump administration's "zero tolerance" policy in 2018.According to a court filing Tuesday, the committee has been unable to reach the parents of 545 children.It believes most of them were deported without their children, and those children are still in the US with a sponsor.The Justice Department and the American Civil Liberties Union are leading the effort to locate the parents.The ACLU points out some of the children were babies when they were taken away from their families. 858

PALA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) -- The third woman who died in a Saturday morning bus crash in Pala Mesa has been identified as 23-year-old Cinthya Karely Rodriguez Banda. The San Diego County Medical Examiner says Banda died after being ejected from the bus. She was from Mexico. Monday, the two other women who died in the crash were identified. Maria De La Luz Diaz, 67 of Riverside, and Julia Perez Cornejo, 73 of Pasadena, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to information from the California Highway Patrol and the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.RELATED: Charter bus had a history of maintenance violationsThe women were among 21 passengers in a charter bus traveling from El Monte to Tijuana that crashed on rain-slicked southbound 15 near State Route 76 around 10:25 a.m. Saturday. CHP said Monday night that the boy was in stable condition and is expected to recover. PASADENA (CNS) The 2021 Rose Bowl game has been relocated from Pasadena to Texas, leaving Southern California without its signature New Year's sporting event for the first time since 1942.Officials announced Saturday that the game -- a College Football Playoff semifinal -- will played at AT&T Stadium in Dallas on Jan. 1, 2021.The decision was based on ``the growing number of COVID-19 cases in Southern California along with the inability to host player and coach guests at any game in California,'' according to a statement from the Pasadena Tournament of Roses.``We know that the decision was not an easy one to make,'' said David Eads, Tournament of Roses CEO and executive director. ``While we remain confident that a game could have been played at the Rose Bowl Stadium, as evident in the other collegiate and professional games taking place in the region, the projection of COVID-19 cases in the region has continued on an upward trend.''The Tournament of Roses received word late last week that the state of California would not make a special exception for player guests at the game. Since March, all sporting events played in California have been unable to host spectators and participant families. The Pasadena Tournament of Roses made its first appeal for a special exception at the Rose Bowl Game in November and made a second request to the state in December. Both requests were denied.``We are very grateful to Rose Bowl officials and the City of Pasadena.
