PEORIA, AZ — An Arizona man and woman have been arrested after their three-year-old child died of an apparent fentanyl overdose.According to court paperwork, a three-year-old child was found dead on June 14 inside a Peoria, Arizona, home by the child’s mother.Police say Shala Durham and Ryan Konkol were interviewed by detectives after they responded to the home, and weren’t able to give a clear, consistent account of what transpired before the child was found dead.Court paperwork shows that Durham told officers she had recently purchased Xanax from a street drug dealer, and that she was also under medical treatment of Methadone.Durham allegedly told police that she had taken one-and-a-half pills and left the others in her purse on a table before falling asleep with the child on a living room couch. Konkol reportedly fell asleep around the same time on a separate couch. Durham said that when she woke up the next day, the child was deceased.Search warrants were obtained for blood samples of Durham and the child’s father, Ryan Konkol.Results for Durham and Konkol came back positive for fentanyl. A lethal amount of fentanyl was also detected in the victim’s blood.Lab results showed the pills to be Alprazolam, which is a benzodiazepine, used to treat anxiety and as a sleep aid.Both Durham and Konkol face one count of first-degree murder.This article was written by 1390

But the reality is much worse. It's a hazardous chemical mixed with fentanyl called tetrahydrofuran fentanyl."It's got other opioid effects. Some of these things are 100 or 1,000 times more potent than heroin," said Dr. Michael Miller of Rogers Memorial Hospital in Oconomowoc.The drug is new to Wisconsin, but law enforcement has found it in Florida and Georgia. Last week, a Pennsylvania man, Jeremy Achey, 43, was sentenced to life in prison for supplying tetrahydrofuran fentanyl.According to federal court records, a man overdosed and his fiancee died when they bought it from him over the internet. Prosecutors say the seller told customers, "It is best if you snort it, shoot it, or smoke it."Miller said most addicts do not even know they are taking this synthetic fentanyl."Most people who are exposed to synthetic fentanyls are not using them intentionally. They are not desiring to use them because they understand that the potency is so high it could be lethal," Miller said.Achey is believed to have mailed thousands of packages containing the drug to customers throughout the United States. PHOENIX - Believe it or not, a shelter pup was returned to the Arizona Animal Welfare League in Phoenix because he was too good.In a Monday Facebook post, AAWL said 1-year-old Binx was adopted and returned within 48 hours with notes saying he's potty-trained, good with kids and fun to play with. Passengers were able to travel on a Delta flight from the US to Europe without quarantining on Tuesday, assuming they passed three coronavirus tests.The flight from Atlanta to Amsterdam, the first between the two locales that does not require quarantine since the onset of the pandemic, required passengers to be negative from a PCR coronavirus test in the previous five days, and receive a negative result from a rapid coronavirus test at the airport the day of the flight. A second PCR test is then administered upon arrival, and passengers are not required to quarantine once receiving a negative result.Delta is also launching a similar program for flights between Atlanta and Rome this week. Passengers bound for Rome are required to take a PCR test within 72 of the flight in addition to being administered a rapid test at the airport. Travelers then must also receive a negative result via a rapid test upon arrival in Rome.“Air travel is the backbone of the global economy.
