Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden discussed coronavirus vaccines during an event Wednesday after being briefed by public health experts on the issue.During his speech, Biden said that while he trusts what scientists say about a potential vaccine, he doesn’t trust President Donald Trump.He mentioned what he called Trump’s “incompetence and dishonesty” surrounding the distribution of personal protective equipment and coronavirus testing. “We can’t afford to repeat those fiascos when it comes to a vaccine,” said the former vice president. “I trust vaccines, I trust scientists, but I don’t trust Donald Trump, and at this moment, the American people can’t, either.”The Trump campaign has accused Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris, of sowing doubt about a potential vaccine by expressing concerns that politics count taint the approval process.Asked whether his comments could undermine public trust in scientists, Biden said the vaccine approval process should be “totally transparent” and it should be evaluated by a “board of scientists” that could give the public an unbiased opinion.Watch his remarks below:Biden's speech took place the same day that the federal government unveiled initial plans to distribute COVID-19 vaccines when they become available.According to a plan put forth by the Department of Defense and other federal agencies, the first round of vaccines would be reserved for medical professionals and essential workers. Eventually, vaccines would be distributed to whoever would like one.Vaccines would be provided to the public without cost thanks to Congress's legislation and signed into law by President Donald Trump.However, The Associated Press reports that officials face an uphill battle in getting the country vaccinated. DEL MAR (KGTV) - Beachgoers are asked to stay away from a section of shoreline near 8th Street in Del Mar because of a sewage spill Sunday.Del Mar city officials said a leak was reported around 11:30 this morning. Sewage was flowing out of a manhole near 8th Street, they said. A blockage in the sewer line caused about 4,200 gallons of sewage to seep out of the manhole and flow onto the beach. The blockage was fixed around 1 p.m., city officials said. People are asked to stay out of the water between 7th Street and 9th Street for the next 72 hours because of impacts to water quality. City officials will continue to test the water. 670

Scripps Company, talked with one of the first to sign up about why she's doing it, and her message to other girls.When it comes to a boy scout meeting, you'd expect it to start with the Pledge of Allegiance. But what you might not expect is to see girls reciting the pledge, with the boys.A meeting just outside Denver, Colorado is one of the first meetings since girls have been welcomed to join Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.Girls across the country can join Cub Scouts in August. But 8-year-old Caroline Graham is one of the first as a part of their early adopter program. And for her, it's not just about getting to participate in scout traditions. But getting to do more of what she loves; camping."You get to be outdoors," Graham said. "And you get to make way more friends."Until now, her dad would bring her along on some trips with her brothers, but as a girl scout, she often had to stay behind."I really wanted to go cause my brothers got to go," Graham said. "And now I actually can.""Every time we'd pull out of the driveway on her way to a camping trip her last though was, can I go?" Caroline's dad and den leader Andrew Graham said. "And we'd say not this time. But now that's gone."Andrew Graham says he's glad his daughter will be able to have the same opportunities as his sons."We're not trying to turn them into boys by no stretch of the imagination," said Andrew Graham. "We want them to just turn into the same leaders we're developing our boys to turn into. And this give us that opportunity."Caroline Graham's brother Oliver says it's about time."It's 2018 and you shouldn't be so sexist," Oliver Graham said.Charlie Graham just glad they can all do things together."I feel like as a family now we can just sort of all progress up together sort of compete against each other for ranks and stuff," Charlie Graham said.
