(AP) — The California Highway Patrol says an officer conducting a routine traffic stop found ,000 of stolen Disney merchandise.The CHP says a Nissan Sentra was pulled over Friday in Kern County after the driver failed to stop when approaching a school bus.The officer learned the driver's license was suspended and then discovered hundreds of pins and other merchandise allegedly stolen from Disneyland.Officials didn't immediately identify the motorist.Authorities say the CHP has contacted Disneyland security and made arrangements to return the property. 588

AURORA, Colo. — Three Aurora police officers under investigation for a photograph taken near the site where Elijah McClain struggled with officers were seen in the picture imitating the carotid hold used on McClain by police before the 23-year-old Black man died last August, two sources with knowledge of the situation told KMGH on Tuesday.Neither source had personally seen the photograph of the officers as of Tuesday afternoon, though they were aware of what the photograph showed.Aurora Interim Police Chief Vanessa Wilson on Monday night announced the officers were being investigated for a photograph but declined to say what the photograph showed.Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman on Tuesday tweeted that he was "deeply concerned over the facts surrounding the photographs," but Coffman also did not detail what was shown in the photographs.The officers were notified of their disciplines on Tuesday morning, the sources told KMGH, but the punishments were not yet public. Officers have a three-day period to appeal the discipline, the sources said.The picture depicting the involved officers was sent in a group text to other officers before it was reported to police officials, the sources said.Earlier Tuesday, Aurora police spokesperson Officer Matthew Longshore said the photos were reported to the department by a fellow Aurora officer, which the sources said occurred last Thursday. He said the police chief review board – comprised of the department’s three division chiefs and the deputy police chief – were reviewing the photos and will make a decision on whether, or how to, punish the officers.Longshore said that the officers could potentially be terminated depending on the review board’s decision. At least 48 people were shot within a 24-hour span on Sunday in New York, capping off a violent Fourth of July weekend, police said.Among those shot, 10 of them were fatal.Since Friday, there were 63 victims of gun violence, continuing the rising trend this summer.Most of the shootings were on Sunday, though there were a number of incidents on Saturday, including one in which no one was hurt. Police opened fire in Astoria, Queens on Saturday night when they spotted an individual shooting at someone else. A suspect was taken into custody in that incident.Police also witnessed violence first hand outside the 40th precinct in the Bronx Saturday night. At least 257 people have been killed in a military plane crash near Algeria's capital, Algiers, state media reports.The aircraft crashed near the Boufarik air base, between Algiers and the city of Bilda. Ten of those killed were the plane crew, according to state-run Radio Algerie.It was not immediately clear whether there were any survivors.TV station Ennahar showed images of smoke rising from the plane's fuselage, tilted to one side, with part of the aircraft sticking out above olive trees.
