(CNS) - Part of Disney California Adventure will open without rides Thursday but plenty of shopping and dining.Billed as an extension of Downtown Disney, Buena Vista Street will be gussied up for the holidays, offering socially distanced outdoor dining at favorite restaurants including Carthay Circle Lounge where Chef Andrew Sutton, culinary director of Signature Restaurants, says Al Fresco Dining at Carthay Circle Lounge will be "like sitting in a European sidewalk cafe.""We literally borrowed tables from some of the other restaurants," he said in remarks reported by the Orange County Register. "Then we started to get more serious about it, bringing in planters, and gardening, and making it look much more refined. The finished product is beautiful."Parts of the park are opening for retail and dining as an extension of the Downtown Disney District. Reservations won't be accepted, but a mobile wait list system will be in place when the restaurant is at capacity.Diners can choose to provide their name and mobile number to receive a text message when it's time to return. Mobile ordering will be available at Smokejumpers Grill and Award Wieners.Buena Vista Street will be open daily 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There's no admission charge to enter and guests can park in the Simba lot as they do for Downtown Disney. (AP) — A fifth horse has died at Santa Anita this fall, the 35th overall fatality since Dec. 26 at the Southern California racetrack.G Q Covergirl injured both her front legs Friday on the training track. The 5-year-old mare was euthanized on the advice of the attending veterinarian.Trained by two-time Kentucky Derby winner Doug O'Neill, G Q Covergirl had six wins in 16 career starts and earnings of 0,730. She had won her last two starts and finished in the money in all of her six races this year. O'Neill also owned the mare in a partnership.The training track has caused the fewest number of breakdowns. However, there have been three deaths on it since the fall meet began on Sept. 27, including one that was believed to be a heart attack. Anyone driving on Interstate 15 near Spring Mountain Road near the Las Vegas Strip early this morning may have seen a shocking billboard. It said “Shoot A School Kid Only .”The infamous art collective INDECLINE “vandalized” the sign on Wednesday night. The billboard is used by Battlefield Vegas, which advertises that it is the best indoor shooting range experience in Las Vegas. The sign was also changed to say "DEFEND LIVES REFORM LAWS."INDECLINE says they did it because of “America’s longstanding obsession with gun culture and out government’s inability to honor the victims of mass shootings by distancing themselves from the homicidal policies of the NRA.”INDECLINE says it is "calling on all political parties to immediately work towards a legislative resolution that aims to protect citizens and reform inadequate gun las that are currently placing value on assault weapons over that of human life.”This isn’t the first time that INDECLINE has vandalized a billboard or did something controversial in Las Vegas and other cities around the U.S.INDECLINE was also behind the naked Donald Trump statues in 2016 that popped up in many cities, including Las Vegas, New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles. In addition, the group vandalized a billboard that was promoting a fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor. They also hung mannequins in suits on billboards with the caption “Dying For Work.” The message on the billboard was covered up before 9 a.m. Thursday.
